Saw Clash of the Titan week before last and thought the script was knickers but the special effects were fun. A Good sort of Rubbish, undemandng, entertainment.
Saw Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll last week and can't praise it highly enough. Best fillum I've seen so far this year.

The Human Centipede is an *actual film*?! We saw the trailer on 'You have been watching' and thought someone had made it up (despite what Charlie Brooker was saying).

Yep, it's real. It's quite unpleasant!

Tis a really good film, but unfortunately I've seen Kick-Ass, so it's only the second-best film I've seen this year.

Yes, jumps up and down waving hand.
Is it as good as the first? Yes it's 'as good' as the first but not better. It's funnier than the first. Lot's of action but in a different way to the first. Mickey Rourke has a smallish role doesn't say much but is excellent.
Scarlett Johansson is .
Marvel are opening the wasy for an 'Avengers' movie and this seems to be part of the set-up (no spoilers saying that).
Oh, and stay until after the credits...which go on for not-quite-literally ever for the bit at the end and also to ponder...what exactly is an 'inflatable crowd supervisor'?

I saw Timecrimes (Los CronocrÃmenes) at the weekend on Film4 - a low-budget Spanish film which involves 4 people, a time machine, and some paradoxical consequences. It dealt with the paradox quite well. Apparently it's due to get Hollywoodised, but worth watching in the original.
Not much on at the mainstream cinema at the moment, so we didn't go out this weekend.

Date Night. I heartily recommend this to all, most of the audience laughed right through it and even the out-takes were
Roymondo, I am issuing you with a health warning. Make sure - if you go see this, that you take a blood pressure tablet with you, as the sight of Mark Wahlberg (sp?) continuously opening the door in a state of undress (I don't think we actually see him clothed in the whole film, and he's in it a lot...) will have you and , (not going to say what bit affected me the most)

We saw two films at the weekend, both with a similar underlying theme but wildly different takes on it:
Incendiary, on DVD. Starring Ewan MacGregor and Michelle Williams, it deals with the aftermath of a terrorist bombing in London, particularly focussing on one young mother. She is portrayed as a bit of a chav, although with her husband's job this seems a bit unlikely, and she's far too posh to be a chav. Some good bits, but it's one of those "how did this get to be a film?" films...i.e. it's really just a quite good telly drama.
Four Lions. You've probably heard about this one - a bunch of largely incompetent young men make a plan to blow something up. This is very, very, funny! Don't see it if you have a sensitive nature, cos it'll probably offend you. Do go see it if you like Chris Morris. It really doesn't let you down, and there was a lot of laugh-out-loud in the cinema where I saw it.

Years ago, but Sky+, on the other hand...
State of Play was pretty good, decent enough thriller with Russell Crowe being quite good. Not especially memorable though.
Body of Lies, CIA hijinks in the Middle East with Crowe again and Leonardo di Caprio. It was ok, but nothing great.
The International wasn't as good as the above. I usually like Clive Owen too..
Serenity was pretty good, but sadly ruined by the noises spaceships don't make, and other things that don't happen in space.

Did he have an Irish accent? I hear that's a good way to get a rise out of the man himself. To be sure

Incidentally, wasn't Schindler's List funnier than Men in Tights?

I watched 2012 tonight and was pleasantly surprised but this was from a pretty low level of expectation.
I wish I'd known to skip the first forty minutes though.

I quite enjoyed Robin Hood, aside from the dodgy accents and some ludricrous historical details. Liked how they took elements of the traditional story (Robin of Locksley, Marion) and subverted them a bit.
Saw Syriana the other night and didn't really enjoy it. Too much going on and it wasn't clear who was working for who.
Rewatched Stardust with the parentals, who've never seen it before. Love that film and they were imrpessed!
