'Planets' and 'plankton' both derive from the ancient Greek word for wanderer.

How about:

The reason that christmas is associated with snow is because the calendar didn't used to compensate for the quarter of a day extra at the end of a year, so it became out of sink. The date christmas would have fallen on before things were set straight would have been equivalent to january 6th.

Hmm, not sure I believe that. Some of it also has to do with Dickens having white christmasses in a lot of his stories.

But still useless, I hope!

Beware of summing up to odd numbers. The sum till 23 is divisible by 23, the sum till 2009 is divisible by 2009, etc.

That makes sense, actually.
For any even number N, the sum of all numbers from 1 to N will be:
(N+1) x (N/2)
So we can see that (N+1) is a factor.

There's a reason I gave up on maths. I pushed the N sequence things from my brain for a reason. smiley - tongueout

Thinking about it, that'll work for odd numbers, too, won't it?

While you're giving a maths lesson, how do simultanious equations work. I always forget how to do them...

That's a good point.
It wouldn't have many practical applications in normal life.
