Even tho its your choice to leave this thread i think its safe to say no-one is using txt speech n we are ALL talking relevant things.
It's a real shame that there aren't any established h2g2ers left who will read the previous pages n see the REAL LDers for who we are.
I really hope that you haven't left this thread with negative views.
Actually i'm probably wasting my time writing this as you're probably not even gonna read this
Come back n read the last few pages n talk to us.

Just goes to show that honesty is the best policy...I'm glad I remained truthful...I certainly do have a lot more confidence in general and about myself. I no longer care what people think and I'm every inch a proud owner of myself and I wouldn't have met the lovely people I have the pleasure of calling 'real friends'.
So to anyone who ever say LD was a waste...think again!
I'm off to bed now, night noos

Good on ya for being proud of yourself! I too am proud of myself n even tho i've made alot of mistakes in my life (n will continue to do so) those experiences have made me into the person I am today.
As long as we can all learn from our mistakes as far as i'm concerned there's nothing wrong in making them.
G nite mate n sleep well

Wot u said is soooo true!
I too have lied over the intrnet, & once it really did get me in REAL trouble, i had 2 stand back & realize that i was hurting other people apart from myself!
I learned a valuble lesson, & now i am totally honest & straight forward, & if no-one likes it then its their problem, not mine!
In learning that i have myself become a more confident person, I used 2 b VERY unconfident & self-aware!! I have also made some great friends who i have met on LD & H2G2! I can have a laugh with them & then when i go out i have a smile on my face, because I know people like me just for being ME!
Anyways, I have ranted long enough, & i'm sure if i carried on I'd get all emotional & start telling u about my childhhood...etc....
& Luck to ALL!!

What they ^ said
Oh and as for what Marc said about "it was like being dumped on a strange planet without a map"...that's pretty much what most people feel like when they discover h2g2...I can imagine accessing using a digibox would make the disorientation even worse.
There was a thread on Askh2g2 a few months back were everyone was talking about how they found hootoo and what their first posts were. A large number of people spent months browsing the edited guide without realising there where all these conversations where going on, others posted a lot of messages to very old threads which everyone had left. I personally spent months posting very passive comments that got ignored - mainly because I was so worried about offending someone (after reading a could of old flame wars) that I avoiding any sort of confrontation at all.

Hiya cuddlywolf! 's to you too!
Have you got any experiences from LD you want to share with us? I for one would be VERY interested to here them. Maybe with more people showing the established h2g2'ers what we're really like then we might get accepted more.

Hiya queeglesproggit!
Hiya lucky star!
I think we've shown you enough proof that we're a good bunch.
Perhaps some comments from both of you (when you've got the time) on what we've been discussing.
Has your perception changed on what you thought Leisuredistrict was?
Then instead of talking amongst we can involve a few established h2g2ers as well. After all we're one big happy family aren't we!

Hiya Little Miss Naughty!
I've found some of your postings very interesting specially the one about treating us all as individuals n your right labelling us h2g2ers is probably wrong as well!
I liked the bit where you mentioned that you don't have tot alk about the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy LOL
Chec out my username n personal space. There's NO mention of 42-ism. I'm NOT a keeper of anything. I'm NOT a muse of anything. There is NO H2G2 code (but i'm interested to know what that's all about. Anyone care to ellaborate?)
I don't believe the answer to what time it is or where are you going tonight is 42.
Shoot me if you see or hear me talking about any of the above!
Tho I do believe Douglas Adams was a VERY good author. Must have been if there are sites like this.

Hiya pencil queen!
I hope you don't think of me as a pest but could you post the link to that thread about where hootoo'ers came onto this site.
I did ask someone that on another thread but i would like to hear from more people.
The digibox isn't that difficult to use for h2g2. I expect we've found the same probs as you have. I don't see that there would be anymore difficulty looking around (apart from a couple of people's personal space n cant get into older convs on ask h2g2).
I can understand that you found it daunting to use this site at first.
Like i said earlier in this thread i thought this site we would have to research for the BBC.
Oh n thanks for staying around.

Hello everybody
I suppose I joined as a result of being an Adams/ Hitchhiker fan. But it certainly isnt a pre-requisite. And this is not a "fan club". And we dont dress up as characters out of the books at Meets. Nor do we all have researcher names from The Guide.
But that's always there as the original inspiration, even though the site is constantly evolving.
I love "ask h2g2" for all sorts of queries, both silly and serious. I enjoy writing Guide Entries - it's great experience for any writer. And I've met some fabulous people, some consequently in real life , and they've without exception been amazing human beings.
I get withdrawal symptons if I can't log on for a few days. I know I will always find something or someone to make me smile, and at times I have found it hard to type because of the tears of laughter running down my face.
I try not to categorise or label people, so I wont use the phrase LDers as a group noun. I did notice more researchers using Nokian and having a more "playful" approach to convo threads over the past 6 months...you know the kind of thing.
