Canberra, 6pm Friday 2 January 2004.
It's 37C again, slightly humid, no breeze, and this house isn't air-conditioned. Sweaty fingerprints on keyboard.

Still warm, about 25c but not a patch on what it was earlier on (37c). We went to the beach at Bundeena, in the Royal National Park, and it was still about 30c, but the water was freezing!! Verrrry frustrating!!
I got wet up to my neck there, but then we went south to Garie beach and the water was even colder and I didn't even want to go in. Luckily there was a stiff breeze blowing, otherwise it would have been terrible.
We still had a nice afternoon, the water was just too cold! Annie

Going dark now outside. Been a dull sort of day all the while. Not raining, not warm, not too windy either. The hills have been shrouded in clouds for most of the day. Hope it improves soon

Glendale CA USA, 8 pm,
It's about 40 F right now, and it's so cold I haven't taken my coat off yet -- been home for a couple of hours. Fog, drizzle, and cold -- not legal for California, I'm pretty sure.

I have about 4 degrees F more, being 15 miles WSW closer to the Pacific Ocean than SpaceCadette. Earlier that afternoon the rain was so light that it was swirling upwards in the light wafts of wind, and plants and lawns looked silvery and bedewed (my brain wants me to type irregular forms like bedewn or bedrizzled) in the thin afternoon light.

Near Limoges, Central France at 11:35 (10:35 GMT) , and the temperature is about half a degree above zero Celcius (centigrade) but otherwise okay. OH! to be sweating, but haven't done that since summer when the shade temp's rose as high as 42C!
