Strange day here in Manama Bahrain: incredibly low visibilty dusty morning. Went shopping at 9am and on the way back there were light showers which have to an extent dispersed some of the dust. Now (4pm) the sun's out and it's a pleasant afternoon.

Currently raining, low pressure still dominates, feeding cold North Westerly; the nights remain cold, just above freezing, with a slight frost by sunrise. The sun is heating the ground when out , giving below average temperatures of 7 to 9c and creating high cumulonimbus clouds which by evening give hail showers and the odd clap of thunder. This pattern is set to stay, although there will be a slight shift of the low pressure system which in turn will introduce colder air from the north leading to the odd isolated snow shower by night fall tomorrow.

After scattered showers elsewhere in the valley, an electrophorus storm and dust pall came up ~4:30pm. Visibilty dropped from unlimited to about a mile on account of the rising dust cloud.

A light rain began ~5:50pm, so far, just barely enough to settle the dust, probably in part on account of a cloud seeding effect by the dust.

Good morning from London. It's a bright sunny morning with mostly clear skies. There is no breeze. The current temperature is around 5c so quite chilly for this time of year.

More friendly westerlies finally back today after weeks of cold northerlies. I like the oceanic westerlies..and by god we need a lot more rain..it's forecast for the coming week...though it was quite sunny today really.

Weather currently idyllic, nothing but clear weather ahead in the forecasts for all the foreseeable future.

The last storm front moving through dropped most of its remaining burden on Mt. San Jacinto and Mt. San Gorgonio, still the skimpiest snowfall I've ever seen, though.

As the Stratosphere continues to warm up due to the suns solar cycle, the jet stream continues to meander further south and with less force.
This has allowed a low to develop over the UK which in turn is deflecting the now weaken Atlantic flow of westerlies. The consequence is that in the UK we are being feed with cold moisture rich air from the north east and with the rising seasonal daytime temperature, this is creating, this now well established pattern of wet weather.
In post 7435 I mentioned that April is set to be cold , this was due then to an Atlantic high feeding cold air from the continent , this high dissolved as the jet stream continued to weaken allowing this now well establish low to develop.
As the Stratosphere is set to continue to warm all normal weather patterns will not be observed and the planet is set for another year of freak weather. May for those who are interested in the UK, I would predict a continuation of Aprils weather, wet and below average temperatures with the odd punctuation of fine spells

Classic English weather, remember it only too well.

Cambridge, UK, from sometime in March, until now, wet, cold miserable, dull, overcast, freezing, occasionally sleetish, occasionally snowish, occasionally hailish, constantly horrible.

The jetstreams lower limb continues to track due North, crossing across the UK, hence this band of squally wind tracking south to north over Yorkshire at the mo.
Once cleared we should be under the influence of a milder wind stream allowing the temp to rise by 10c, giving 16/17c, more like the seasonal norm
