Here in Fife, its been blowing a bitter cold wind for the past few days now.

The Forth bridge was closed to high sides vehicles a couple of times so far

It's a beautiful autumn day in Chicago. It's sunny, a bit breezy, 43°F / 6°C. I've just taken an hour walk to get out of the office and enjoy the fresh air for a bit. I love that it's nice enough to be out in a sweatshirt but not need a coat or anything to slow the leisurely walk down.

Very cool here in Dhahran. Cold this morning, sun's going down as I write and it's going to be cold again tonight.

It's raining. This is odd. So is the temperature. We're back up to 82/27 with overnight lows at 72/22, and we should be well below that by now. It's looking like we might get away with another warm New Year's celebration if this keeps up.

I guess we'll accept the free irrigation for now.

It was very hot a few days ago - reached 45 or more in one part of the Western Cape I believe - but a cold front is on its way, which may bring rain. It has been sunny, warm and a bit windy today, a North-Wester, which is unseasonable; Cape Town traditionally experiences the South-Easter at this time of year.

At the moment it's 18 degrees at Cape Town Airport, at 1.55am on Tuesday 6th Dec.

We need loads more as over the last 18 months rainfall has been right down. A favourite tree of mine died in the summer, my youngish Linden..and the Elder is clearly suffering.

Northern parts of UK have had loads of rain, but those Atlantic depressions haven't been sweeping across us in south east London.

They closed both Forth Bridges today, and its been a long time since they closed the rail bridge, here in Fife

It's a dark dreary miserable morning in London. Not really - that's just my hangover. It's actually bright and sunny and clear and reasonably mild.

But it feels dark and dreary and miserable when you have a hangover from the office Xmas party!
