You see that 41% humidity having a 1 degree influence on the actual temperature. I was interested to read the recent post from California stating 'monsoonal rain', I've never heard that adjective used before concerning American weather.Maybe the poster is from Asian origin?
Anyway, here in ths Gulf, pretty typical weather for the time of year.

As you can see from the above, recently the humidity has started to fluctuate considerably.
It started a couple of days ago and in the evenings and mornings it has been like walking into a Turkish bath when you go outside.
Thank goodness for A/C because summer has really arrived now.

Warm here in Chicago, too. It's been in the 33-42°C range for a few days, with another five or so to come. The humidity's just oppressive, though- it's like an armpit out there.

Last few days as been a mixed bag of sunshine and showers. It’s been warm out though there has been little direct sun light.
Today has started off with leaden skies with a tint of salmon coloured haze low on the eastern horizon.
Not wanting to wish the summer away but it has an autumnish feel out probably due the coolish breeze

Hi Lapis- are you traveling, then? Hope you have a safe trip (and the weather is nice for you). Still warm and humid here. Couple more days of 35°C ish (with heat index around 40) but by Sunday it should be more normal for these parts again. I really don't mind it so much except the a/c in our unit is not coping too well and I have trouble sleeping when it's very warm or humid (asthma, etc).

Leeds sounds really nice right now...

Not really travelling: I work in Dhahran Saudi, then every Wednesday afternoon I travel the 30K? over the causeway to Bahrain for my weekend (Thursday to Friday) then go back early Saturday to work in Saudi. Only 30K apart yet noticeable humidity and temperature differences (although not of a great amount).
I hope the conditions are not causing too much of a problem with your asthma.

The temperature ranges from an average low temperature of 14°F (-10°C) in January to an average high in July of 83°F (28°C).
so all this week it has been about ten degrees above average.
The article goes on to say July Mornings can be down around 40F
but not this year. The low this morning was about 83F(28C)
There were a few days in January where the temp at 7AM was -20C.

Do you have to have those car battery warmers in the winter?

A few people do, but not many. Usually if you have enough juice in the battery it will work at those temperatures. You just have to give the oil in the motor about thirty seconds to warm up before putting the car in gear. And then it takes about two minutes before the interior heat is warm enough to use. Also when it is that cold everyone uses gloves.
curious thing- the last two days I have been burning my hands on the steering wheel and thinking about using my gloves now.
