Actually I'm not sure I deserve this job, I'm likely going to be in over my head. However it will hopefully give me a chance to earn some money before they kick me out, and having a cantina means I'll at least get one meal a day before that happens.

I saw something yesterday about how the average age for nobel prize winners to do their nobel winning discoveries is 48. That's rather encouraging. Though I don't know if they included the peace and literature winners in that.

Don't do yourself down: you've been offered two jobs in two weeks and that's no small feat. They think you're good enough so prove them right instead of waiting for them to discover they're wrong.

For heaven's sake, Xan - you were obviously far better than any of the other candidates. Go in with your head held high and ask intelligent questions. You'll soon be bobbing serenely on the water. At least 80% of the stuff you need to know, you'll learn on the job anyway.

I'll go and do what I can in any event. This also means I should have time to meet with the government, see if they are willing to help pay a bit for the commuting.

Actually I've discovered a second bus, which goes more often. That should help reduce the commuting time by a few hours.

I will. Sadly by the time I have money again, the school year will be about over, so Lund will be a ghost town again.

Ghost town Lund might be a good thing. Too much choice makes choosing harder - that is why certain kinds of fish swim around in these large groups (schools, aren't they called?): a predator can't make up his mind which victim to hunt for. Of course, in finding girls, the terms "predator" and "victim" (and most of all, "school") are not the bsst choice

And anyway, the students will return for a new term, and by then you will be swimming in money

Hopefully I will just work two months or so, and then have enough money to go do a master thesis. Then maybe go see if the women of Gothenburg are less picky.

I just saw that I'm getting a tax refund. Ahh, that feels good.

I just got my council tax notification in the bill - it was a lot less than I was expecting - so in a way, that also was good.

I just recieved commuting money from the government, ahh.

Your luck really is in. You certainly ought to be able to show your face at a Hamburg meet, now.

Will there be nice, friendly girls?

I can't believe this. The money I got from the government last week is spent already. All went to food and commuting, I don't think I've ever spent that much in one week before. I'm not sure what to do now.
