It's pouring down rain, which is baaaaad, because I stupidly volunteered as a dog-walker for a friend with an injured leg

We took our dog out yesterday in the pouring rain, well we are in Manchester, and it was great in the end we all got so wet and cold it was nice to come home warm shower and a hot meal.

Remembering how cold you get put the oven on before you go then your house will be toasty when you get back.

It is raining raining raining and the garden is a mud swamp.

And I'll have wasted a lot of electricity and/or burned down the house

No, the deal is, I walk the dog, I get to come back to *her* warm place for coffee and cake But she just called and said her father's taking care of it for today.

No, because silly person that I am, I have decided to make a foray to the library in a minute

It's stopped raining - briefly - but I'm sure it'll start up again soon as I step out the door.

Right now, outside the window, there are big grey clouds, illuminated pink from behind by the sun, over a blue sky, over West London. It's blinkin' bootiful.

Tis blowing up a fair old gale down in these parts an I heard old London as had a tornado

As per usual, I'm buried in the basement, relying on the old t'internet to let me know what is going on in the world. Seems it has been a blustery day in London, but exposure on this scale is unusual..

Poor things, although whether it was a tornado is debateable, as it seems more like a heavy squall considering it was so localised.

We had a phone call from a colleague early this afternoon:

'Sorry I won't be in today, my chimney stack's fallen into the living room.'

Now we know why!

Back from the library - cold and wet but with a bag full of books. It's only about 7° out there, but with a wet and chilly wind
