Does no-one care that, whenever anyone British is in a Simpsons episode he speaks in a really psoh accent and wears a golfing top. I think this is DISGRACEFUL!!!

Apparently many Americans think that upper-class brits sound like Kryten form Red Dwarf and that the north of England is called Scotland...and these people have a seat on the UN security council!?!

tangential points and flawed logic aside, The Simpsons provides an interesting example: Sideshow Bob. He's played by an American actor quite skilled with his voice, Kelsey Grammer (also a confessed anglophile).

Blue collar vs white collar works even within the American populace. As funny and well written as it may be, Fraisier, the series that centres around Kelsey Grammer is at the most essential level a chance to laugh at an educated character who speaks foreign languages and prefers a fine wine to a bottle of bud. Blue coller America still seems to have certain issues with people like that.
