hi
aceblack Started conversation Apr 26, 2006
Hi my deaf and blind partner makes her own cards for xmas, birthdays etc and finds it very stimulating. Its a lot cheaper than buying in cardshops then signs them in braille with greetings in braille. So thankyou for popping into your p.s.one final question what on is a lurker.
hi
Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Apr 26, 2006
A lurker is someone who drops into a conversation somewhere and follows the proceedings but doesn't post anything, personally I don't drop into 'Private' conversations (Where it's just 2 people talking) but I do in Journals and other conversations, it's a great way to pick up gossip the best place to find conversations to lurk in is here <./>Info</.>

Also - sometimes you lurk spaces or areas of h2g2 that are of interest to you.
For instance I lurk around Reefgirl sometimes - and read her conversations etc.

My cat Masky tends to type her own messages when she runs over the keyboard.
As the old saying goes "Dogs have owners, Cats have Staff"
cats have staff yes.

Now that i can believe ive never me such a surerciliuos thing in my life mind Smudge does a good salsa dance on my key board.Im too soft with her mind next month a party of deafblind are off to manorca for 1 week so thast will be fun the guides are the ones that get lost and the deafblind can rember the way back to hotel.ITS a lot of happy faces when we take off and we all give a yell when the jet leaves the runway and the other passengers seem to have a bouy of tramour and white faces ha ha.Ive been doing thiss job for 15yrs before that i was doing a lot of hard traveling a braod for 13yrs up in yukon however out of every thing ive done means nothing the happiest moment in my life was to get a reply on my hand from a deafblind person it was better than winning the lottrerfy please excuse my spelling the pesky poserpuss is chewing my toe aaaaaagh.

Hi yep it had its funny side as well as its scary times,at first i worked as a fire watcher that is where you are stuck up a150 foot tower in the summer and keep your eye open for whisps of smoke.Wheh you spot some you trangulate with another tower and eventually work out how far off very technal even for my brain.I ended up as aforrest ranger been chsed by grizlies they are very inteligent believe me.Mind it had been a dream of mine to meet the indians thst as a child id had a dreamta to find out how they lived it was a big shock as lot lived in poverty,Iwas lucky enough to meet and live with a Cree indian for 10yrs till a accedent in a canue put a end to that now im happy been an interpreter for the deafblind and getting it wrong all the time ha ha mind the best thing for me doing this job is to finger spell on a hand fo a deafblind person how are you and get reply , fine thankyou its marvelous. p.s.then they tellme off fob been a odd speller mind ive excues that fussypussy is holding a torch and moves it about i think she want to weter the horse mean go out so ill speak to you via keyboard later.

Is there anything you are specifically interested in?. Are you from the UK or somewhere else? because we have many researcher clubs where the folks of all nationalities meet, they also meet in person too. Do you like Star Trek as there is an Appreciation society. You could write about you travel experieces for the Edited Guide or your work with the Deafblind, there are many Role Playing Games, a lot of it is fantasy or Sci Fi based, I myself run a game based on Stargate there is also a Jedi academy game that has been running for a few years. anything you want to know ask, I know my way around this place quite well
