If you're heading for the Edited Guide then I'm afraid the personal style isn't appropriate. The E.G. is the one part of the complete h2g2 which aims for dry(-ish ) peaces written from a neutral perspective etc etc. Essays and musings are better brought to the attention of <./>ThePost</.> or the Alternative Workshop (which is a misnomer but there you go). *Very* alternative writing is what <./>AggGag</.> is all about

Anyway, IMHO your introduction should be expanded a bit to really serve as an intro (perhaps it's just me, but I had to read your first paras twice to get the idea of where the point is and who is meant by 'her'). Something like 'The Greek goddess Io was forced into travelling and myth has it that: ' or so.

You're making a very interesting point by pointing to our history as nomadic people!
