While we're talking about the fat guy in the red coat: my parents told us that he didn't come down the chimney, but had a magic golden key that opened all doors and windows, even the ones without keyholes.
My mum's sister died in a domestic fire accident, and she was petrified we would go the same way looking for him.

Santa never visited us but his "helper" the "krampus"... he is big and has a black and red fur . we always heard heavy steps and chains and hid under the bed. but he left some presents for us anyway
