this article doesn't mention the non-intestinal features of Crohn's disease. Also the link with ulcerative colitis. A short course of metronidazole helps Crohn's colitis and 5-ASA derivatives are also useful for colitis. Infliximab can close fistulae without surgery. Azathioprine is the standard add-on to spare high doses of steroids

Long time no posting on here! Good info though.
My daughter was diagnosed with IBD earlier this year, symptoms mostly follow those of Crohns. Apparently it's more common in younger people these days than previously. So far managed to avoid steroids - she's on azthioprine & salazopyrin.
