A Conversation for Talking Point: What makes you cry?

Music makes me cry more than anything else. In the new movie "School of Rock," there's a shy, overweight girl in the class who finally, timidly makes it known that she'd like to sing in the band. She opens her mouth and out comes a sound almost like a little Aretha. I teared up then, and every subsequent time she sang in the movie. (WHY??!!)
I do cry *sometimes* at movies, but usually not. I don't like to feel I'm being manipulated. The two female friends I went to see "Shadowlands" with (Anthony Hopkins, Debra Winger) back in the '90s were sobbing their faces off at the end. I was dry-eyed. But after "Saving Private Ryan" was over, I cried for 10 minutes. I couldn't get up and leave the theater! I hate to give away the ending to explain why, in case anyone's reading this who hasn't seen it and wants to, but I just found it very moving.
