Hey there moofish
I'm Jordan, I don't think I've run across you before. I hope no one has been insulting you, but with this entry, as I see it you've got two options. The first one would be to develop the topic, which I'd be more than willing to help you do, into a full-fledged entry. There are a few entries about long words that you might want to take a look at - A182765, A29639046 and A24833397 So there's certainly the potential for an entry in there. The fact that there's a ridiculously long word for the fear of long words is funny and makes for classic h2g2 material, I think. The first two lines of the entry are fairly effective at pointing this out.
If you wanted to develop the entry further, there are all sorts of avenues to go down. As it stands, this entry will probably *not* get picked for the Edited Guide (which is what Peer Review exists for - to filter entries into the Edited Guide) but there's no reason why it can't be edited into a good entry. Let me know if you want some help in developing it

Thankyou very much i might actually consider taking this advice in hand and write my first serious entry! (that would be why i was insulted :P) Your help would be so useful!

Okay Well, the topic is a bit sparse, but that's fine really. More has been written about less in Edited Guide entries, I assure you.
The first thing that is needed is a logical progression. The points you want to make, I think, are what the word means, the irony of using a big word to describe it (a bit like using a word with an "sp" to describe a lisp and a word with an "st" to describe a stutter, which causes people to demonstrate their problem in describing it) and then maybe delve into the topic of this fear of big words. If you want to do some research, that would be great, but I've poked around on the internet and there's not much there on the topic of Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliaphobia other than confirming its definition. If there aren't many facts to be had, feel free to try other things. If I were writing this entry, I might present a short scene of a sadistic doctor thinking up the name of the phobia.
You can make jokes and be lighthearted - that's encouraged actually... but it should be an entry *about something* if you want to make a serious effort for PR, if you know what I mean.

Hi.. boys..
Can you please remove this one from PR Moofish..
F48874?thread=4889689&latest=1
We only require one entry about the subject.
You have lots more that needs to be added, if you wish to turn it into a proper Edited Guide Entry.

Might it be useful to guide Moofish towards the EGWW?
Whilst I can understand Scout frustration at the multiple entries, I can equally understand the enthusiasm of someone Interacting with the Internet who isn't necesarily used to the customs and practices of its members... different cultures and all that...
I sound like some Victorian explorer Anyway I applaud Jodans considered response

Hello Terran,
It isn't frustration. If you check out the U numbers, you will see Moofish has been with us a while on his original account.
There is no problem with Jordan, or anyone other researcher, helping in here.
It's just best that PR isn't clogged up with multiple duplicate entries.

Well ST seemed a little frustrated at least on the other thread... so maybe a litte

Absolutely. We are in a state of agreement... which is why I suggested they be directed towards the EGWW...

Can we not talk about Moofish like this isn't his PR thread and he's not here? That's very off-putting to me when I get similar treatment. This sort of talk is what the scout forum is for.

Quite right Jordan Sorry, I would instead just ask Moofish maybe to try out the EGWW (Edited Guide Writing Workshop)

If Jordan wishes to do the work.. there is nothing wrong with it being done here, in PR.
Moofish needs to follow any guidance given and, be willing to put more work into his potential Entry.

Oh absolutely. All I would say to Moofish is that for the kind of things that might need to be done a workshop environment might be useful.
