In Australia they have been promoting this wierd, twisted thing called "disco bowling", They used coloured lights and disco balls and pump loud music through the place while these poor bastards try to hit pins that they can barely see because of the strobe light etc... Have you got this crap in the UK?

I think we have got one about 10 miles away that does that once a week, can you guess who has never been to one
I have seen one bowling ally in the USA that has a league for the,,,,,Blind,,,,
and they seem to have a lot of fun

Well I suppose if a blind man can climb Mt. Everest, boling really isn't much of a challenge. Mind you, I'd keep my distance when they were learning. I assume that someone points them in the right direction(could be dangerous!)
Why aren't you game to try disco bowling? Sounds like a hoot!(tongue firmly planted in cheek).
I once played lawn bowls with Dennis Thatcher. Even at play he still neede to ask his wife what he should do with each ball. Not suprising really, considering that she already has 'his' in her handbag.

They had these rails that they put at the side of the lane, and the bline person would hold onto it and bowl the ball, and they listen to it go down and hit the pins( and it did most of the time ) and then someone would tell them how many they hit, they realy enjoyed it
and as for disco bowling, errr,,no thanks, you can keep it
You play lawn bowling
now that takes skill, I dont think I could ever be any good at that
how often do you play that, ( did you bet the Thatcher's )

A small casual Lawn bowls culture has emerged over the last few years in Melbourne. Every now and then you get hammered and see if you can make the bias work(never does when you are sober, believe me). I did beat Dennis Thatcher, he was actaully quite good, so I had to distract 'Maggie' while I nugded Dennis as he attempted to bowl. Easy, the old fool never knew what hit him.

every time I have seen Dennis Thatcher ( on TV, I have never seen him in person ) he never seems to know what is going on.
But that is a nice "clame to fame ", that you have beaten Dennis Thatcher at lawn bowls
How many of you play, and do you have a league going,

No organized thing at all, we just do it every now and then when we a few of us feel the need on a nice clear day!
Not very often though, it is very dull without alchohol, believe me!

No alchohol,
The lawn bowling by us is next to the pub
I even go fishing right by the pub
On a sunny day ( not as we get many ) sitting by the canal fishing, with a in your hand, nothing better

I must say, it is suprising, exactly how many sport and past-times are better with a touch of the amber liquids. Although these days, you are almost treated as a leper in 'high society' if you want a beer. Cocktails and spirits are fine, but a nice amber ale! Heaven forbid! The world is full of blinding hypocrites. Just because I may want to swim in someones swimming pool (note: 'SWIMMING' pool) without clothes, doesn't meen that the party has to stop sheeesh!
Oh, sorry, just got off the point there! Go Beer!! Yay!

There is nothing better that a nice , cannot drink the amber liquids though, I am elergic to it
But you are right about the 'high society', I go in some places ( but not very often ) and you feel like you should go up a dark corner and drink it, but I don't, I stand there with my and think, "Stuff you "

Now now, don't throw your computer around. It's much more fun to take to it with a large weapon, like a sledge hammer , an axe or a wood splitter.(Just make sure you unplug it first, shocking)
This way you get all of your agression out in one sustained frenzy!

Oh!No! If you have started refering to it as a living being, you are already lost! That's how it started for me! Get out of the house, go somewhere quiet where the world has not yet discovered electricity and live your life as a humble pig farmer!!!!! Go! NOW!Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!
