Hi Guys and Gals! Yogabiker pointed me in the direction of the club, can I join? Not sure how to, so thought I'd post a hello to you all! Anyway, introductions; my name is Jemstone (aka Jemma), my first bike was a Honda CB125, second was a Jap import Honda Bros and my current bike is a Honda Hornet 600 - hmmm there's a trend here, I obviously like my Hondas! I was an all weather biker (literally every day as it was my only transport) until about a year ago when I finally took driving lessons and passed my car driving test! OK so most people do the car first and then the bike but I did it the other way round, the bike was cheaper and I was a poor young thing! Bikes run in the family, my Mum used to have one and my Dad currently has 3, so it's in the blood!
smiley - biggrin
Anyway, hello to all!

Welcome aboard!!

BadZen looks after the membership stuff, but I've never known him to refuse. Just takes a little while to spot some of us! He's in the antipodes if memory serves. Summer is in season there so he's probably out and about.

Hey Outrider

No rush about paging Badzen, I'm hanging around all over h2g2 so I'm bound to be here when he gets back.

Yes I am in the UK, based in Milton Keynes which is about 50 miles north of London. Where are you? This site is amazing smiley - biggrin to the point that I've made it my home page! I think it will take me months to feel like I've explored a good percentage of it, but so far I'm loving every bit of it! I've only been a member for a couple of weeks but I've jumped in on topics and conversations and already made some new friends, which is great. I may be around your personal space to say hello every now and then - feel free to do the same to me smiley - winkeye

So tell me a bit about Outrider!?

Hi Jemstone.

If you want to know about folk just click on the name tag at the top of each posting and it takes you to the home page for that person.

Has an ACE been in touch with you yet? If not I know a couple of really good, friendly ladies who would be more than happy to talk.
Otherwise just check out the 'don't panic' page smiley - dontpanic Its full of useful tips. If you already new all that I'll get ready to duck the smiley - tomato heading my way.

A brief glimse of Outrider: I'm a middleaged biker who's been riding since the age of 14. Avel Du is my black VFR800 but I've still got (but dont use, sadly) my yellow 400four that I bought in 1980.

I live near Liverpool, on the Wirral with my girlfriend VFRgal (who doesn't 'get' Hootoo at all) and my two dogs (a pair of 18 month white Boxer boys, who regularly find thier way into my journal). a smiley - scientist on shiftwork and still waiting for a smiley - biker smiley after nearly a year here.

I'll stick you on my friends list and you can laugh at the adventures of the pups.

Though judging by your homepage, you're way ahead of me anyway. I had nasty experiences with goo and gml when i started so rarely try them out!

Hi Outrider

Thanks for the tips, yes I am figuring it out. Made some new friends already just by looking at other new members online and posting "hello's" to them. I've had 2 ACE's in touch, Reefgirl and Lil, they both gave me tons of info which has helped me find my way around.smiley - biggrin

Nice to get an insight into you (thank you)! Read VFRgirl's info on teh club members page when I was over there joining, nice to know there are a few biker babes out there! Even though she doesn't "get" hootoo, at least she pops by every now and then.

Thanks for putting me on your friends list smiley - ok I'll put you on mine too, not that I write in the journal, but I might start one day! Your pups sound like fun. I myself am owned by a white cat who I've named Spike - what can I say, he's white and funnily evil so I had to name him after my favourite evil blonde haired vampire from Buffy! He's very crazy but very loveable.

Off to surf some more, I'm still trying to find my way around...I'll get there eventually! See you later Outrider smiley - winkeye

Give my regards to lil if thats lil ol me (aka lm to me). She was one of the ACES that I had in mind. Odd that lm and her daughter Vicky Virago were amongst the first few I met here and they live local to me. In fact we've even met once.

I know you are in safe hands.

Isn't white just the worst colour for a pet? You don't realise how many black clothes you have until you get a white pet. Not that I would change my two for anything. They are perfect as far as I am concerned.

One person that might be worth visiting is Mort. She's a vetinary nurse and has done many published hootoo guide entries on animals and is a serious cat lover. Her spiggy is as bad as my two dogs (Henry, after Henry W(r)inkler and Diesel as in these'll do when looking for things to eat chew or play with).

Happy travels!

Yes that's the lil that greeted me, she's a very good ACE. Ah, so Vicky Virago is her daughter? She mentioned her daughter Vicky but I didn't think of putting them together due to the vast size of this place!

White haired pets - tell me about it! I now have a sticky roller always in the house, and each visitor has a free go with it before they leave depending on where they sat! We used to have a maroon throw on our sofa which of course was difficult to keep the hair off, but we now have a leather one which is MUCH easier smiley - winkeye I love my Spike to bits too, and no matter how much he malts I don't care. I'm thinking of starting a business in knitting cat hair scarves, I could have made a fortune by now! Love your pup names smiley - biggrin. It's great when they come from fun meanings. Mort sounds like a good person to know - I'll go visit her personal space and maybe say hi.

Think I'll go get a glass of smiley - redwine, enjoy your weekend Outrider, see you soon.

Hey there Jemstone - Welcome to the club!

I've added you to the members list: A739406 - would you care to nominate a virtual bike for punting around the world of H2G2?

Make yourself at home.

Hi BadZen, good to meet you! Thanks for the welcome. Can I nominate 2 virtual bikes please? Depending on my mood for the day I'd ride either a Harley Sportster (in turquoise) or a Buell Lightning (matt black). Chilled out and mean/mischevious moods respectively!
smiley - ok
Catch ya later!

I just knew rumours of naked women and free beer would get his attention. smiley - winkeye

We went for a leather settee too. Much better and easier to clean. I just took the boys for a 2 hour wander around the local national park. They were black inside 5 mins but found water half way round and came out two tone. They are fast asleep now pondering what delights might find their way into the food bowls tonight!

Ralph, the Janitor - Keeper of Magic Tricks that don't work (and some that do!)

Hello Jemstone, glad to meet a new member! I don't drop by very often anymore, but I'm glad I did this time. I haven't been rideing very long, but I'm trying to make up for lost time. I even rode for a while on New Years day! ( I'd have ridden the day before too, but I had to wait for the ice to melt out of the road I live on)

Outrider, too bad you can't bring the boys by here, since I live in a National Forest there are lots of places for them to run & things to check out (but they probably wouldn't like it just now, we had over a foot of snow yesterday with temps. in the single digits, and are still digging out! and thawing water pipes)

They not like cold, but do like snow, BOXERS!!

On frosty nights I have to apply a technique not unlike kickstarting a bike, much to their dismay.

But you are correct RtJ, there's buckleys chance they'll get to the states less I end up working in Texas (or should that be TEXAS (sic)).
