Hey Ben (or Tony B Curtis),
I am Madhur, a graduate student studying the h2g2 website and its community as a part of the project for my 'online communities' class. I think that my research will be incomplete unless I include the perspectives of the active members and community builders. Hence, I am asking for help from people who had been active on the site for quite some time. Please visit my personal space U1297534 for more info.
If you have some time to share your thoughts about h2g2, I'd be very grateful. Please let me know by replying to this message if you do.
Thank you Ben! I hope to hear from you soon...
Madhur.

If you ARE genuinely researching online communities (which I must say sounds highly unlikely) and AM genuinely interested in my opinion, then my email address is on my Personal Space, and you are welcome to contact me that way.
If not, I suspect you are just a sad, lonely, pathetic spammer who has nothing better to do than annoy a lot of people. Get a life.

Well, in that case I apologise. Your post did have a pre-formatted look to it which made me suspicious.
Gosh, I hope you don't conclude that a trait of online communities is to be surly and suspicious.

Ben,
I will surely not conclude that.. we tend not to jump to conclusions that fast.
Though, we are surely looking for the feeling of online safety and privacy among the community members, and initial reactions are quite effective reflections about such feelings.
To explain further about my current interest: We are looking to hold 45-60 minute conversational-style interviews with h2g2 members (over phone) to learn about their experiences, and discuss with them about some other perspectives, which would help us understand the community here in a better manner.
Can you please confirm if I can contact you at [Personal details removed by Moderator]?
Thanks for your reply again...
Madhur.

" and initial reactions are quite effective reflections about such feelings"
My initial reaction had better not suddenly find it's way into any research study. Or I'll be spitting blood and feathers.
Key: Complain about this post
