Funeral was yesterday - the church was packed, and he got a police bike escort to the crematorium.
It was a very "Brian" day - lots of laughter and fond memories of a guy who could turn the fun up a couple of notches when he entered the room.
And yes, we finished the crematorium ceremony (having had his Dad's silver band version of Highland Cathedral - the tune I walked into the blacksmiths at Gretna Green to - as the coffin was lowered) with the vicar saying
" and let's always remember the life of Brian..."
while "Always look on the bright side" began and played (with a suitable edit).

Another one - my special niece's birth father.
He and my sister broke up before she was born, but they still kept in touch, and my niece even went to visit him and her younger half-siblings in the States for 10 days last year.
He had been ill for some time, but still wasn't 50 years old.
Too young.
