The "Talking Point" is a new article every time, which means no one's subscribed to it. It would be nice to find a way to link articles (an article stream: one stream would contain all Post articles; another would contain all Post front pages; another would contain all of a certain column in the Post; and one would contain all Talking Points; and one would contain all Edited Guide Entries).

A user could then subscribe to an Article Stream. They would then be automatically subscribed to all articles in that Stream.

That's completely off the top of my head, but I think it would solve a couple of the problems discussed in this thread.

Why not treat everything equally, no matter if it's an Entry an Article, a Conversation, whatever. Put a 'Subscribe' od 'Follow' on Everything and not just on Life and the Universe.

TRiG - yeah, I already mentioned that Talking Points are underused. I suggested posting them in Ask rather as an Entry so it would encourage one thread with lots of posts and interaction rather than lots of threads with individual responses. Being able to find them and archive them easily is useful too. A lot of Collaborative Entries could come out of the Talking Points.
