I recall reading about Jack Nicklaus playing at one of the Scottish courses with DEEP sand traps. The edge of the trap is over the player’s head, so the problem is getting the ball to rise quickly. Nicklaus hit 4 or 5 shots which hit the edge and trickled back down in front of him. He later said, “Everybody wants to play like Nicklaus, now they can.”
