My local's got a website

Last weekend, when i was home for my birthday, I, Alfredo marquez of these pages, and an air steward who supports Bolton, entered the pub quiz at my local, the Ferry in penketh. We didn't win the quiz, but we did win eight free beers for this week.

Anyway, I also happened to notice on the pub quiz sheet that the pub has a website. A nd, now that I've got very little to do for the next couple of days (until i return to the pub on Sunday to consume the free beer, I checked it out.

So this is my favourite pub- http://www.theferrytavern.com/

You know, the dog in your local looks quite like the one in mine...

He does shifts.

Sunderland to Brighton is a bugger of a commute for a collie cross, mind you.

It is, but my local's not in Sunderland. It's my local back home in Warrington. Still a hell of a way from Brighton

What's the hotel/pub relationship in Oz? Here in BC until only 20 years ago, you had to have a hotel as part of the pub. The theory was there had to be a place to sleep it off, I guess...smiley - laugh When people started building pubs without rooms available our *Live Beer* brewers really took off.

What's so dodgey about the Clifton Hill Hotel?? Looks nice enough! smiley - cheers

I think it *used* to have rooms...I know guys who used to live upstairs...but now they're planning on making it some sort of function room...my girl and I offered to take the space off their hands, but they wouldn't do it. For some reason I think they'd rather we weren't there more than we already are smiley - laugh

I actually took my Dad there a few weeks ago, and one of the bouncers said to my Dad "if she had a sleeping bag, she'd probably never leave".

I mean, it's true, but surely he didn't have to tell my *Dad* that...luckily my dad already knew, but that's not the point smiley - roflsmiley - rofl

(it's not as dodgy as it used to be...oh, I miss the good old days smiley - bigeyes)
