h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Got your attention? Good. Last journal entry I wrote got not a single reply, despite containing the phrase "F**k!: those Are Not My Bongos".

Anyway, I had me a plan for today, which started at about 3 this morning, and it was this:

1) Get home in time to watch jack and Jill on Channel 4
2) Watch jack and Jill
3) Go to bed
4) Get up
5) Leave flat
6) Buy paper
7) Have breakfast
8) Go to Argos and buy some headphones
9) Return to library, log onto t'net and lsiten to the songs on http://www.samsemple.com

Now, this, I thought, would be quite simple.

Well, I almost achieved 1), missing only the first five minutes. Darn good show that. 2) therefore, was also achieved.

3, 4 and 5- no trouble. Ran into trouble on 6) as WH smiths wasn't open yet, so I had to buy the paper from the fella with the stall in the Bridges shopping centre.

7 was taken care of courtesy of McDonalds Big Breakfast, and 8) wasn't very hard as Argos is opposite McDonalds.

However, 9 fell apart.

HMV is en route from Argos to the liobrary, so I went in for a mooch. I found myself in the cheap section- you know, everything's about three quid, that bit? Anyway, to cut a long story short, I left with a 3CD jazz box set, and "A REggae Tribute to the Beatles Volume 2"

And now I can't get the university computers to play Sam's music, so Fitzroy Sterling's "My Sweet lord" will have to do.

That could either be really good, or truly frightening!

Oh, I eventually managed to get one of the uni computers to play Sam's songs- and they really are quite good.

Did you say it was Tuesday you were having your operation? I hope it all goes well.

Yeah, Tuesday AM. Made arrangements for transportation, and I have to go in to the hospital tomorrow and sign releases, talk to the anaesthetist, etc.
