I'm ashamed.
Big Brother TV ( as a concept) is a Dutch invention by the very rich media man John de Mol.
Started around 1998 ?
After that he sold the concept to the USA, but no sex in it.
I don't know how the English version is.

Yes, that's right. That's Friday June 1 of 2007.
The guy who started this TV station all by himself was severely ill his whole live from kidney diseases = Bart de Graaf.
It's a very unconventional TV (and radio) station, but I have been a street corner worker for many years and also worked in Youth detention centers and I have great respect for the quality they achieve, within the alliance with their focus group = 14-25.
In the core, it's a very trustworthy, benevolent and inspiring station.
Not for me, because I am not their peer group.
But they have my greatest respect and every day they succeed in catching the attention from teenagers this way, it's a good thing.

Knowing BNN it is possible that they never intended to make that show at all, and were just interested in the fuss around it.
Of course TV has it's moral codes in The Netherland, like in most other countries.
Maybe even my own daughter is working at the program as a producer.
I have not asked her. Always bussy, sometimes even arriving at seven in the morning. But she is not an employee of any tv station.
The respect that I have for BNN is, because of the fact that deep down the real aim is to keep in touch with young peoples and try to give them besides fun and excitement also education and inspiration in the right direction.
MTV is rotten to the core. Can not be compared with.
But I cannot imagine that a TV station like BNN (started just ten years ago) can stay in touch with young persons (who also(!) look at MTV and many other comm. stations), while putting a positive morality in it.
That's a hell of a job, and it would be a miracle if they would succeed in it in another five years.
After that it will probably become just entertainment.
It all depends on which peergroup one wants to reach.

and also e4 doesnt play music now.......it streams big brother live! argh what a crime especially as im home all daytime cause of study leave
mtv has declined so much since the 90s! i used to watch it all the time because it was actually good but now its full of reality shows!
tv in general has gone downhill very recently......the popularity of programmes such as big brother and wife swap just proves this!
that channel (bnn) sounds quite good!

Yes, the BNN story is unique.
The guy who started it was Bart. He started in a program of a commercial TV-station.
I'll describe it in a graphical way, as he would have wanted it.
First watching him could be quite a shock. He was ugly to see and
very small. The cause of that misery was his severe illness of his kidneys.
But he had a unique Calimero-power and lots of humor and he suddenly got his idea of a special "Bart-Television station" within the regular, non commercial stations in Holland.
And yes, after a few years he indeed got his own station. Besides his inner strength, his charisma and humor he also knew the Dutch television world in all its details.
He just could ring an important TV personality out of bed at 3 in the morning to offer him a piece of cake.
Or he let himself locked in a restaurant and made a program during the night and at around five o’clock in the morning he'd call the police to ask them to let him out.
The team around him was enthusiastic, socially engaged, talented and after his death (36?) his team took the full responsibility and they still do their job very well. The real sexy women seduce the adolescents to look further into the world than just their breasts alone and it's convincing, because they are who they are.
I did not look Dutch TV tonight. I'm tired and looked at England-Brazil.

:O the whole programme was a hoax!!!!!!!! but apparently it worked as many people signed up to be organ donors while the programme was on.........

Alfredo Posted Jun 2, 2007
Yes, I did have the feeling that it all might turn out to be a fake happening.
BNN does make programs with sometimes very high integrity.
And now they have shown how to get new donors among young and old peoples.
Just actors!
I expected them to do something else from the very beginning, but now
They did act as if and at the end.....
P.S. How many peoples/news editors will be disappointed that it has not been what they expected?
No reason for sensation anymore
Awful.
No Sodom and Gomorra anymore in Holland.
Nothing to complain about!
