its amazing and scary but first i will tell you why it amazes me...its been what youd call a routine bedtime procedure,i went to bed projected and woke up afterwards before i project i need no procedure just gimme a bed t lye on shut my eyes n off i go its not scary to do it but its scary during it for me because im able to foresee things, see places i aint been to n lateron in reality i visit them to find their exactly as i foresaw n thats a tiny taster i wont go into details cause i will sit down soon, write about it all and do a long journal entry for h2g2 which i hope youll read i hope,my dreams i wrte down because they too are insightful n predictful but astrally projecting is more insightful so therefor more helpful, its only scary cause i feel its real,i feel im awake and reallyliving this,i feel all, taste, touch etc so its in that sense scary p.s. i when a kid didnt know i was astrall projecting i knew i was out of my body i knew but didnt understand it nor did i want to do it

Sounds like you do what I did when I first realized that this wasn't all a bunch of hokum. I've almost been able to induce an OBE myself, by the way. I once went to sleep, and suddenly... I wasn't in my body. I saw myself asleep, sort of drifted around... scared the @#$% out of myself, but didn't immediately retreat, because a week before I'd read about that.

And to think I thought it was all hokey.

It seems that when you sleep, you do not warp you your dream area; instead, you stay on the physical plane. A very unusual anomaly, but that's all I can think of...

Mystic Spirit, SmartGamer, I think I've done it myself - but I don't do it often, or intentionally. The first time I knew what it was, I was actually 'flying' and went to a woman I sort-of knew, someone with a lot of problems. I sat with her, and sort of listened to her talk, said 'there there', and when I saw her next, she somewhat puzzledly (Is that a word?) acknowledged my helping her (normally she thought I was a heartless &*#@*).. and then I realised I actually had visited her in some way! Freaky! smiley - ghost

Try doing it, at least five times. I almost made it last time...

This is a wonderful resource. It got me as far as I've gone so far...
I have a feeling I might get it next time.

Then again, maybe I'm just .

SmartGamer, I just checked out yr link - I could spend hours there, if I had time... Re my above post, I've (I think) done it many times since, on one occasion urging people I met (strangers to me) to check out verification I gave them, that I really had met them! Or.. am I deluding myself? Interesting! smiley - bluebutterfly

...and you can include my experiences with attempting to astrally project. It's just weird, that's all...

I believe myself to be a fairly good writer. Let's collaborate on this, if you two are in, then are we going to make one entry or are we going to do a University project?

Examples of my work:

A725113
A689925
A609833 and some connected pages
A545690
A658019
A624223

Etc... and the last three are Edited.

alji's

I tried to teach my wife how to do it but she got frightened when she started floating out of her body. I haven't done it for years but I do have lucid dreams.

so your interested in doing this project with me thats cool i havent heard from delia or whatever her name is its too long for me to recall i dont know anything of its history all i know is ive been projecting for 15 years so the only wisdom i can add is what happens to me when i do it,it just happened i dont even know how to do it it just has been happening to me so as ive said what i go through i can tell thats all i have to offer though someone else has the job of telling us how to do it, someone else has the job of telling us the history of astral projection, the only thing i can contribute is what happens to me when i project so what i dsay will be in quote marks no doubt, and will be the last paragraph i suspect, perhaps the job of telling us how to do it goes to the guy whose joined us if he wants the job of doing that then he can get it ,all we need is someone to do the history of astral projection and we can start or perhaps we dont need to include astral projections history just simply how its done and whats been happening to us when we do it

Doctor Geek (i used to think i was indecisive, but now i'm not too sure.)

hmm, interesting... I'll make the page if you want, you are all welcome to put some of your experiences in my temple, I'd be delighted to hear them. To get there just click on my name. Incidently if any of you have any untranslated dreams feel free to put them there too, and our helpful temple staff will have them analysed immediately. I could put a linked page to my templ for astral projection and lucid dreams...

Living in North Wales.
Short of money.
Doing a college course.

Life soon contracted to a monotonous routine of sleep-study-eat-sleep as I literally did not have the cash to do anything else.

Two months into this (which I now recognise as crashing monotony) I woke up one morning, crossed the room, and turned the radio on. All I got was static and crackling. I tried to turn the light on: i felt the switch click under my fingers but all I got was the same static crackle.

I had no memory of washing or dressing, but I left the house, aware of passing out of the front door and turning left to walk the mile or so to the college. The street was exactly as normal, familiar landmarks and pbs were where I expected to see them, and other people were out doing normal things like walking dogs.

I recall walking for about five minutes in the direction of Flint, and everything felt "normal" but with an indefinite fuzziness round the edges. Just as I reached the CQ Nomads football ground, however (currently placed third in the Welsh Premier)it felt like I'd suddenly walked into a wall and I could go no further, my body felt like it was cast from lead.

Then a "click" - and I was back home in bed feeling distinctly disorientated.

So what the Hell had I been doing for the past five or ten minutes, walking down Connah's Quay High Street in the direction of NEWI Kelsterton?

This occured three or four times in that period of my life - I wonder if it was my mind's way of generating interest in life, of getting out of a boring rut by doing something different? If so, take it to the logical extreme - prisoners in Solitary or people in sensory deprivation experiments must have some weird experiences (generated by a deprived mind trying to compensate?)

Jack London wrote a fascinating book with just that premise, about a prisoner in solitary confinement who learns to take out-of-body trips on purpose afer he does it by accident after being tortured.

It's a great book! (Star Rover, I think). I just googled but all the results are in Italian, sorry, it may take a moment...

Yes, Star Rover that's it...

I remember when I first did it. Doing all the relaxation and feeling the light slowly passing up though my body, breathing exercises and all the etceteras, I found myself high in the sky seeing the clouds and the moon behind them. I panicked and immediately found myself back That was about... 27 years ago now.

On the point of another level, the astral plane, it has always been my intention to make it there one day.

One prominent author i this field (Robert Monroe) suggested that people's initial projections should be short.

I think he said this so that it would help to gradually learn how this works, to be able to recall the experiences more accurately and build up to long projections.

I'm currently exploring energy body work and meditation. I think both will help me in this life and as a base for Astral Projection which I also hope will be one ingredient to enhance my life.
