What I used to love about York, as well as the BEER, was back around the late 1970s before we were Water Company-ed and Environment Agency-ed, there was a lovely little office on Skeldergate in a beautiful old building, with some jolly friendly and competent people in it.
It was the Yorkshire Water Authority's strategic water resource planning department.
It used to flood !
