Glad you stopped by. I'm just checking this site before my bass player shows up for a little Friday night practice. Say, I've put some of my newest photos in my folder in the h2g2 photographers site. Maybe you'd like to peek. Today I was taking pictures of a bumble bee in flight. I took a lot of shots but of course most were throw-aways. Good practice though.

I certainly am! It's been awful quiet up there. I can hear echoes when I stop in to see if they've put up a list.

I use my camera a lot anyway, though. It's going past hobby to obsession. I'm waiting for security to throw me out at work, from being on the roof of the parking garage with my telephoto.

They are now up ....not sure whether I have the facilities to do some of these though. I've started becoming aware of the fact that people need photographers for a range of things websites for charities, celebrations such as weddings and local publications.

I've given up trying to photo all or even most of the lists they put up. Some are impossible without a field trip and some I just can't 'get my head around'. Usually I try two or three. It's those conceptual ones that are hardest!

I've done a wedding but only as a favor. It seems like a lot of pressure, taking pictures of a once in a lifetime event.

I'd rather just take pictures that let my imagination go wild, or portray some emotion or excitement. Sometimes I wander around the house and yard trying to see things I never saw before, and capturing them in a picture. Every now and then I get lucky.

Oop. Feeding time at the zoo. Better go get dinner ready for my kids and dogs.

Yes, you're not alone! Like an old friend used to tell me, "You're unique, just like everybody else!" Sobering, huh?

Thanks on the pics, it's nice to be encouraged. At work I've been thrown out of one area by security ostensibly because I was in danger of coyote attack! I think being on a garage roof with a big camera made them nervous. But since then they've gotten used to me and mostly leave me alone, especially since I have come up with photos of everything from bumble bees to vultures.

Well, off to work I go.

Do you have the facility to crop photos?

I do.

I have a few different graphics packages that do it, but mostly for H2G2 I use MS Office Picture Manager. It might even be part of the Operating System installation I think. It makes basic photo handling pretty easy. When I get fancy I have to break out other software packages.

If you need stuff resized and/or cropped regularly you can give me a buzz here or on the h2g2 site. If Im not available the other members are very good about helping too.

It's really no bother. Getting hold of me is the bigger issue, as you can see. I'm running hither and yon and don't always think to check for messages.
