Aaaaah, just look at those big brown eyes! Can I give him a biscuit?
How can you resist this entry...

That's lovely. It describes my old Alsatian/Labrador who loved swimming, would fetch anything and would never come home without some treasure that she'd carried miles, was a canine dustbin you had to be kept out of the food cupboards and had hip displacia (sp?).
Now you've reminded me of how much I miss her. Hope you're pleased with your self
Good work!

Thanks for the positive feedback.
I *am* pleased you're reminded of your dog, even if it is a little sad. It's a testament to how dogs just wrap their way around people's hearts as soon as they come into your life. Those warm memories of a wagging tail at one end and a damp tax return being offered at the other easily make up for the short time these animals can spend with us.

Yep, they're nice - almost quite as nice as flatcoated retrievers
*guess which kinda dog I have....?*
I'd say that to pass as a fully qualified guide entry, a more thorough description would be better. I'm sure that it's a simple matter to search the net for the standard for labrador retrievers (labs, for short).
*would have done it -- then came to think that I couldn't paste the URL here anyway. *
Being a retriever owner - and even a member of the Danish Retriver Club - I can possibly think of a few other relevant bits to add, given a bit of time.
Oh - and I have thought about doing an entry on Flatcoats. The entries could crosslink - or be combined into an overall Retriever entry?
(there are, erm, 6 breeds, I think - labs, flats, golden, chesapeakes, curlycoats and duck tolling retrievers according to my memory)
Regards - and I deeply feel that retrievers have a place in the guide!
SG V (and Castor, my flat)

Thanks for that - I have added a little more description now. I did come across the standard when I was researching this initially (altho I can't find it now!), but I remember thinking it was a bit too dry to include in the Guide.
Crosslinked entries about the different sorts of retrievers would be great - although any breed of dog would make a good entry. Even Heinz!

Well I think this is a very good entry, and the graphic clinches it! You're on the way... you will shortly hear from the editors that your entry is to be accepted, and will eventually form part of the guide. I hope that others will be inspired by your example, and there will eventually be a whole pack of canine entries. From here it takes a while to go through the editing process, so be patient and eventually the editors will email you to let you know that your day of fame has arrived. Once again, well done!

Should that be "moults" rather than "malts"?
