and, 7 spices. which are actually 13 spices.
'Tis confusing, that Lebonese 7 spice, contains 13 different spices Its been marinading overnight in the fridge, so bout time to go cook it
no gym today; William has gone on his own, to take care of our clients; I'm awaiting the delivery of a 25 KG bag of epsum/magnesium bath salts
Oncology appsoon, and a cardiology app. got the testosterone injection sorted out fine, in the end, for the start of January, which was good

Someone analysed the powdered, pre-made mix used to spice and batter Kentucky Fried Chicken (back in the '80s using gas spectrometry IIRC) to determine the secret recipe of "11 herbs and spices".
The test results indicated the presence of flour, salt, pepper, and MSG. That's it. (The real secret to KFC is their patented pressure cooking system.) No doubt, Harlan Sanders original recipe did contain 11 common herbs and spices that he would famously use to make stove top fried chicken in other folks' kitchens impromptu. He was not a fan of what became of his restaurant chain after selling it once comparing their instant mash potatoes to "wallpaper paste".

That sounds about right for KFC chicken! - I used to make a spice blend for my own spicey KFC style chicken, and found that, basically, almost any combination of spices, as long as there was paprika, made something better than the KFC up the road from me
Been doing a lot of marinating chicken strips in lemon juice, oil, and various spices recently... cooking up a big batch means theres always something in for a quick lunch, that isn't a calory rich nutrition low sandwich - though we've just finished a batch of beef meatballs I made, so time to do another batch of something, probably more chicken this time, maybe with the lebonese 7 spice, as last time I did sumac chicken
Tonight is lentil soup, with bacon bits
and, asides cooking, I've been to the gym... so far this year

When I was young I loved KFC. But usually only in the very early hours of the day following the night before. As one did back then
Later I found out how to make way better myself

I am not a big chicken fan but I have been told chicken soup is very good if you have a cold but it is quite complicated to make from scratch as chicken livers are also in the recipe.
Thought about getting chicken sausages but changed my mind. Everything I have now, needs to be very spicy and full of garlic.

It's quite easy to buy liver here. Usually frozen, though. But you may just as well cook a very decent soup without liver. Just leave it out. I would, as I should avoid eating organs such as liver and kidney anyway as I am prone to gout

I'm going to test a new cut of meat I have never encountered before. It's called Beef Bavette and is described as beef diaphragm.
I think the description makes it sound less delicate but a good friend has tried it and praises it in high notes.

sounds maybe a bit tough... - good for stewing? not been on here in ages... because... its so quiet on here still at gym most days, and pub a lot of evenings... yes, the virus thing, 'social isolation', which is now going to gym and pub, as so many people are avoiding them, they are virtually empty...
Pub last night, was me, William, landlord and landlady, plus one other customer and gym today, was me, W, and the two other personal trainers... plus a brief appearance from another volentear PT... - a lot of clients have canciled, and regular customers seem abscent too -

The Beef Bavette turned out to be excellent for stewing. I tried a recipe which included half a bottle of red wine, chopped onions, garlic and fresh Thyme and it was very good with mashed potatoes
We have been locked down for a week or so now and as of Saturday noon the whole country has been sealed off. Luckily my favourite watering hole is still open and the usual handful of regulars turn up late in the morning every day for a chat and a few beers before going home to lunch.

They're specifically shuttering bars and dine-in restaurants here in several locations including Harris County (Houston), Texas. I'm just outside Harris County in Galveston County, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do likewise here. I was also planning on going to a Renaissance faire in two weeks, but that's looking doubtful now as well. That will be during what will likely be the peak or nearing it of this pandemic here in the States.

It's interesting to follow the different approaches countries have chosen. One of our experts says he won't be surprised if South Korea turns out to have chosen a better way than Denmark's but it is way too early to compare. And it's too late to change horses now. We'll just have to wait and see.

No pubs left open here now, all pubs, bars, cafes, gyms, etc, closed by gov... - which is daft, looking outside, people intereacting more close together in street, than we did in the gym or pub - and shops can still be open, and are often Very busy too - Still not sure if I'm in an 'at risk' group that should not leave house at all - oughta discover if I am soon, as I've hospital appointment Friday so I'll ask my specialist nurse then- we'll probably walk the hour to the hospital, and again home; I'm guessing buses are either not running, or a risk anyhow, if they are

With your heart issue, I'm confident that you are.
That said, considering how you've defied all medical logic over the last several years, who knows.

weakened immune system, post chemotherapy, perhaps still.... and reduced immune system, due to being on steroids... - although, I'm on physiological steroids (about 4 MG prednisolone per day), rather than therapeutic doses (20 MG per day or more which a lot of people are on, for various things) - plus I've got my recent blood results to hand.... all my immune cells are well OK and I get my monocytes, plus lymphocytes, neutrophils, platelets etc, numbers taken regularly
Going to venture outside today, first time in a couple of days, to get a walk (some fresh air thank BoB), plus take in a grocerys shop on the way
At least I've my testosterone injection Friday; it might help me stop 'running a fever' I.E., getting hot flushes at the moment, and body ache/pain, etc., from low testosterone In otter news... nah... the otter news needs a new journal I thinks
