Salamander the Mugwump

I noticed the excellent entry on Water Towers listed in the most neglected section on the front page so I nipped over to de-neglectify it. I posted an absolutely completely inoffensive and non-political message there. It's been whipped out for moderation. Now that the moderators have shown themselves over and over again, to be (I can't find a kind way to say it so this will have to do) not very bright, I've taken to saving my messages if they have any hint of political content. This latest messages was so completely innocuous and free of the merest suggestion of political comment, that I didn't bother to save it. I don't know how much longer I can be bothered with this nonsense. This is the thread that the message has been removed from: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F65056?thread=106674&post=907939#p907939

I'm very sorry that the post was removed. It was referred because the moderator thought that it contained the h2g2 coded language called bubblish (based on morse code, a big O replaces a dash and a small o replaces a dot).

Apologies, I've returned the post within a few minutes of this posting, I hope this helps!

Best wishes

Peta.

I should try to remember that you're on the receiving end of all this flack Peta. Didn't mean to have a go at you. Just getting annoyed at what seemed to be absolutely pointless moderator activity. Tip-toeing around, trying not to say anything that might require moderation and then I accidentally stumble across a secret illegal language. Can't win, I suppose smiley - sadface

That's okay Salamander the Mugwump

They're just trying to be efficient, I expect it gets pretty frustrating really, after all there isn't a lot to moderate out on h2g2, it's probably rather boring, and then they spot a bit of potential bubblish, and think yes.. Now's *my* chance to use the refer button....

As he says, blame Hugo the fish for this one! smiley - fish

Only joking hugo. smiley - biggrin

Hi - just gone back, and I think that it has been returned already. I imagine it was referred over to me, and that I put it back when I got back from the bank holiday. Okay? smiley - smiley
