Hi and welcome to h2g2!
This place might seem a bit overwhelming at first - if you have the time, I recommend taking the <./>DontPanic-Tour</.> to find out what it's all about.
A quick and easy way to find out what's going on right now is checking the h2g2 <./>FrontPage</.>. It's updated each weekday and contains a lot of info, such as the latest edited entries, talking points, contributions, conversations and so on.
Feisor has created a 'Hints & Links for New Researchers' found at A719840 that you might find useful.
Germans? Oh yes, we have German researchers here at h2g2 - the Germania Connection A478055 seems to have been quiet for a while, but I know that the author, TC U154942, is still active. Feel free to drop in and leave a message on her user page, she might know where the Germans hang around these days.
Don't hesitate to ask me or any of the other <./>ACEs</.> if you have any questions about h2g2 - we're here to help you find your way around! You'll find the most commonly asked questions, along with answers, at <./>DontPanic-FAQ</.>.
Enjoy exploring!
Kristina

hello kristina,
thank u for answering and "aufnahme" in your side to be a real h2g2. i am happy to find u all and at first u kristina. its new for me to see such much people that work seriously with the thougths and words of douglas adams. and there ist much more on the way to change the things they run this days or the past.
thank u for help, i have indeed a little orientation-prob, but at first there ist the engl. language. since much years i dont conversed in your native speech. but with a little time and help there will be informationchange ´bout all the things that are nessaccary, or so.
i thank u - and hope to hear from you as soon as possible.
i am reading the seldom in doubt in this days. it´s great and there ist so much to discover in the world if someone is able to watch through dougs eyes. the montys, the freedom of thoughts and the nessaccaryty ?? of changing the mess in the world. (last chance to see)
i look forward to write more in this and to hear from u.
flamenco olé.

What, you speak Swedish? See, English is a foreign language to me too..
Hola from cp!...
control_of_panic Posted Dec 20, 2006
no kristina, i am afraid i d´ont speak swedish but where do u come from in there? i come from germany near braunschweig or wolfsburg where the bugs are buildet. between hannover and berlin out of the older west-germanshood - haha. do you know the soapbox of brian may? http://brianmay.com/brian/brianssb/brianssb.html
it´s a page of brians thoughts and even some commercials too. but quenn doesn´t needs that. queen ist pure gold!! well.
have u ever been in london? and do u know where our douglas adams lies? i am sad if i think of his loss. he awaked me once in reading, of course, arthurs adventures. and i found some passages in the books of metaphysik, humorous definitions of worldquestions that i wear in me since i was born. his kind of watching the world and earth makes me often clearer then i was. even the answer of all questions that are nessaccary is (the 42) an answer that makes me lough and cry the same time. he ist brilliant and will ever be.
i am looking forward to your sight of the things and wish u a happy day in front of the day-night-same-thing, the wintersun-burnout or how do u call.

I live near Stockholm, I go to London every now and then for the h2g2 meets - you can read more about them here: A435791
I'm afraid I have no idea where Douglas Adams is buried, but I'm sure that if you start a new conversation over at <./>Askh2g2</.> you'll get a reply to your question!
Ah yes, the 'vintersolstånd' as we call it in Sweden - or 'winter solstice' as it's called in English. I do look forward to the days getting longer again - this winter we have no snow, so it's really dark.

hello kristina,
yes the vintersolstand is the great party. looking at all the christians on around there is a solution for the questions of "what was first? egg or chicken.." you know, nature was first and cosmos or galaxy was very first. the druids and older kinds of priests knew the power of galaxy and this is what i love. nature and its ("its" from monty python, haha) work ist a real wonder. jesus was cool, and dalai lama is. i am sure mohamed is too. burt nature was the first and will be the last (last chance to see) but i dont wanna talk against your probably believing or inner cores maybe. i would be sad if i would heart u in that or any other point. so pls sorry (if it would be that.. and so on)
in germany we say, that after the vintersolstand (nice word) every day gets one crying of a cock longer (cock is the word for male chicken, right? - i mean him) and is a nice definition for the days till sommersolstand or so.
have a nice day and i am happy
of talking with u bout all the stuff

Hola from douglas!...

"He was cremated, along with his towel, at 7.30pm British time, on 16 May, 2001 in Santa Barbara, CA, USA and hundreds of fans worldwide saluted him with a drink around that time, either with a cup of tea or the nearest they could get to a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster. Wife Jane and daughter Polly moved back to Islington, London, together with their cats. In May 2002 Douglas' ashes were interred in a private ceremony at Highgate Cemetery (East), Highgate, London, England, plot: Square 74, Plot 52377, where a memorial stands."

Hi! Sorry for taking so long to get back to you..
How to contact other people? Well, I see you've made some attempts already, but please understand that sometimes life can be really busy - people tend to sometimes go offline for days, weeks or even months.
If you're looking for a place where you're guaranteed to get replies, you could try the very busy <./>MiscChat</.> or - if you have a specific question - <./>Askh2g2</.>
I don't think I know the books you mentioned, but it's hard to tell - I might have come across them in Swedish, with completely different titles.
Dirk Gently - yeah, I like those books too, and I've often used his method of navigation, namely to just follow someone who looks as if they know where they are going. Most of the time it works just fine, but sometimes I end up in very odd - but usually interesting - places!

yeah, thank u 4 answering. swedish is not the speech i talk or write in any way, and thats sad. but maybe u can teach me some words? and i tell u others. i know, there are dictonarys to do that kind of knowing, but so it would be another kid of dictonary. what do u think is a very well sounded word in swedish? in german there is a word like: wechseldatentrger that means uwb-stick haha, thats funny, my french drummer says.
and u really tried that method of gentlys following people? u watched other booktitels and find desmond the rhino??? thats great (in another way, but great to try it.) what kind of knowing gave us dna with that books? it seems right not to be from this earth. i like him very much and now i have read the saldom in doubt. he is great. and will ever be.
i am very happy that u are back to this side.
if i may help u in any way - i would be happy to do.
