I'm now almost at the end of my school days (best days?) and I have to say that the stodgey yet insubstantial food on offer at my school has kept me the same weight for the last three years. Apart from one pound added in the morning, yea but to be lost by the evening, I haven't changed. Maybe it's just me, but if you want to maintain a trim shape, I recommend relatively unhealthy food... daily.
That contrary enough to common belief for you?

Actually, in addition, I have to admit that I do do exercise daily. On that front I recommend doing light activity, frequently. None of this lifting trucks with your right little finger or anything. Use comfortable weights, but with many repetitions. It is important to note that there is a difference between weightlifting and weight training. In one you try and lift as much as possible, in the other you use weights as a form of healthy exercise, just like jogging.
Sit ups are good as well, especially for burning off those extra pounds around the stomach.

Sit-ups do not 'burn off those extra pounds around the stomach'. They firm up the stomach muscles, which looks like it has had that effect. There is no form of exercise or diet that will spot reduce a problem area. The best you can do is use exercise to firm it up!
