Dances with ladyboys

To who ever wrote this entry, I am relieved to finally find someone who is also interested in the military. I am 18 years old, and currently studying A-levels in preperation to joining the RAF Regiment with a commision. Have you ever been in any of the services? Contact me if you fancy a chat.

Cheers.

Not as such. I enjoy reading history.I yomped through Churchill's 'History of the Second World War' not long ago, and the Chinese occupation of Tibet is something I take an active interest in.

Just zis Guy, you know? † Cyclist [A690572] :: At the 51st centile of ursine intelligence

Only just picked this up (due in part ot the Great Hiatus, mwhose duration I suspect was pretty close to the predicted "exactly 42 days."

My interest in the military is peripheral. I was in the TA as an officer cadet at Uni, but failed medical due to asthma. My dad built Victors and lived on the site of a V-bomber factory during the Bay of Pigs crisis, and I was a wargamer for much of my youth. But these days I build websites and take my kids swimming, which leaves about 15 minutes a week for anything else.

I wrote the article on Cheshire becuse I discovered that there was very little on him even on the Cheshire Foundation website.

You might find it interesting to revisit the Leonard Cheshire Website it's been completely revamped and there's much much information about Leonard Cheshire the man and the foundation, there now. There's also a new biography out, which will be in paperback in the summer.

Leonard Cheshire has always fascinated me, as he refused to parlay his wartime fame into personal gain. My father was a member of 617 Sqn the Dambusters, and spoke very highly of Cheshire.
