Hi Nightshade - we'd be delighted to have you amongst us!
Here's some info about us:

...and as for the patronage - is there something you are particularly fond of? Interested in? Feel sorry for? Amused by? Afraid of? (Being Patron Saint of something you're afraid of is one way of dealing with it<biggrin)

What about PS of fourleaved clovers?
Looking at other peoples homespaces is a good way of learning GuideML.
If you replace the 'A'or 'U' in the url-number by 'test', you will see how it is done.

Thanks... at the moment I'm trying to teach myself Guide ML through the Clinic, but it's a bit technical, so I've resorted to copying out anything that looks useful and changing the text. Patron Saint of Four-Leaved Clovers sounds fine. I know it sounds ridiculous but it is possible to spend four hours on the one patch (I had a really good one, but they mowed it.) I even found a seven-leaved one once. I'll have to find a graphic for that... Am I now an ?

Patience, my dear, patience - you become an by being sainted at a special ceremony - we're just trying to gather up a couple of new recruits to make it more grand (and to have an even better reason to throw a party)

Six? My friend and I had five of those, I think...

I meant six-leaved.
Did they come back after the mowing?

Are you kidding? It takes years for them to recover. And yes, I did mean six-leaved. They're not that hard to find if you know where to look... there is only one type of clover that I've found so far that has four-leaved clovers. My grandmother tells me that they're much rarer in Germany, so maybe you don't have as much of this type of clover over there. It tells you something about the bus system when you find two four-leaved and a five-leafed clover in the time it takes for the bus to arrive...

Four leaved clovers are not so rare in urope. I found them in many countries, mostly hidden in a patch of the three-leaved version.
The five and six version I only found once, in Austria, as I remember.
For the last years, I leave them alone when I find them, what's the use of taking them? The fun is in the finding.

I have loads of clover in my garden - though I call it "shamrock" in honour of the Irish.
The leaves are always 3, but they are heart-shaped, and the flowers are fantastic.
They stay closed up until the sun hits them, then they open as fast as they can...they will open today as I just watched the most beautiful dawn.
What a beautiful morning....
And tonight is the full moon....followed by a blue moon on Nov 30th
I never found a four-leaf clover....but it will be exciting if I do ever find one. I'll leave it for someone unluckier than me to find it too.

Where do you live, AGB? It sounds beautiful. For me: I press them and send them in letters. Or give them away. It's nice to meet a complete stranger at the Kingston bus stop and give them a four-leaved clover.

Investigate her personal space, and you migh find some clues.
I suspect the english countryside, and that certainly can be a nice place to live.

Close, but no cigar
Actually the east coast of England, a seaside town called Cleethorpes.
Press them & put them in letters, hmmmm?
My letter writing has ground to a halt since I bought this computer.

AGB, I don't let you close a thread just like that.
In my last posting I was not too specific, because I don't have a very good knowledge of English geography.
The Grimsby Tower gave the clue of your whereabouts of course.
A pity that the sainting started so abruptly, I prefer Dragonfly's advance warning.
See you at the sainting
