That is a very beautifull snowflake of the plate type called a Stellar Dendrite, found on page thirty three of Ken Libbrecht's "Field Guide to Snowflakes" ~ which introduces part two of his excellent book ~ well found. I think I'll borrow this link to update my entry, I hope the picture sticks around on the net longer than the real things do. Thanks.
