I am flattered that Pierce the Pirate would take, as his new name, the name of a character from Spotlight 71 on Crepuscular Meadows:

I think it's okay for a pirate to start drawing from the IRA or chest of gold buried long ago on some obscure and rest from the travails of old age. You've earned it.

But you could fancy yourself as an ancient mariner. That's something respectable that can be a good role model for the youngsters.

The brother and business partner of famed pirate of the Gulf of Mexico who had bases of operations in New Orleans and Galveston, Jean Lafitte, was named Pierre. He handled much of the smuggling operations.
