The German in Green house number 4 drinks coffee, smokes Prince and keeps fish...
Probably (Assuming that the 'first house' is the one on the left, otherwise I'll have to start again )

Deja vu moment! This was posted in the 'New Day in the Quiz...' thread 3 days ago! Was it just mentioned in the paper or did Mycroft and Greebo both spontaneously look it up?

I thought that Einstein teaching himself calculus by age 10 was impressive, but it seems he composed this many decades before is own birth, if he indeed did so during the early 19th century.
I saw this on Andinqti as well, so I'd best not answer.

I would first like to point out that Einstein could not have wortten this in the early 19th century, because the early 19th century means the early 1800's. Einstein did not live to be more than a hundred. Therefore, as Einstein was alive in the 1950s, he was not aliove in the early 1800s.
Anyway, that said.....
The German owns the fish.
The first house is the yellow house, wherein resides the Norweigan, who drinks water, smokes Dunhill, and owns cats.
The second house is the blue house, wherein resides the Dane, who drinks tea, smokes Blends, and keeps horses.
The third and middle house is red, wherein lives the Brit, who drinks milk, smokes Pall Mall, and keeps birds.
The fourth house is where the German lives, who drinks coffee, smokes Prince, and must own the fish because he is the only one without pets (by the end of the logical conundrum), and this is the only empty "pet" spot.
The last house is white, where the Swede lives, who drinks beer, smokes Blue Master, and keeps dogs.
I haven't seen this before, but I've worked on problems of a similar nature. Am I on the ball?

Dammit, I'm late again.
Can't we have some sort of warning about when each quiz is going to be posted???

You forgot the German being in the green house, but that was obvious, as it was the last colour.
And don't ask for rythm in Greebo's timing, that's one of the charms.
You just have to be lucky, and very fast. Normally the first answer comes within seconds.

Nah, being in the right place at the right time is half the battle It's just typical that, now that I've got one right, it's not part of the quiz and won't earn me a point...
Hey ho...

Well, yes. German in Green.
I feel I'm at a disadvantage here... I'm not in a position, nor do I have a type of connection, that allows me to immediately spot a new question. I can't be permanently connected, and even if I am I have to go to class and whatnot, so if I at least knew *when* to log on and start circling around waiting for the question, I could try to be there...
*sigh* oh well. Maybe I'llo come across it by sheer dumb luck one of these days.

Sounds like you have the same kind of problems as the rest of us - we can't be online 24/7.

You can't?
Bear in mind that being an h2g2 addictive carries some responsibilities, such as staying up half night although having to go to w*rk next day...

I agree with the German having the fish, but...
according to statement number 4 and assuming an enummeration from left to right, the white house cannot be Number five, can it?
So I say the German lives in number 5 in the green house, drinking coffee and smoking PM, while the Swede resides in the white house number 4, owning dogs, drinking (expensive) beer and smoking Blue Master.

Sure it can. It's the green house that cannot be number 5, for then the white house has to be 6.

I solved it when I got it for the first time, but the person who sent it to me said he doesn't know if it really is A.I's question.
Did A.I really definitely write the question?
