OK, calm down Calroth, buddy.
This is what happens.
You write the entry. You promise to finish it the next morning. It fades into obscurity. A wonderful Scout comes and adds your entry details to the Peer Review page. A lot of people come and bang on the entry. You turn up a month later and realise that this lot has happened.
Now what? Now you clean it up and get it ready for publication. You put it back on Peer Review and hopefully either a Scout or Sub-Ed (I'm not sure which, or what the exact process is) rubber-stamps Recommended on it. You clean it up more. It goes into the Approved Guide.
Have I got that all right?
