I'm not here to welcome you to the guide.

Someone else does that. They are what's known as an ACE.

I just announce the fact they are going to be here(hence the name).
If you need any help before they get here just pop along to my small corner of the guide and I'll see what I can do (which probably wont be alot...)

Hi there! I'm androyd one of the Assistant Community Editors who have volunteered to help new members. Welcome to the largest collaborative writing project er...anywhere. Take a look at some guide entries and see if you can add to the collection. If you feel there is a subject you can write about try doing a search first to see what already exists. p.s. am NOT American. though i'd like to think that even a person from a such a country would be capable of understanding what you meant when you said 'football' (and wouldn't have been floundering in a Dr Pepper flavoured haze, brains threatening to close down at the mere mention of an unfamiliar way of looking at a familiar thing...)
