As silly as it looks, I'm dead serious about the information I present. Downeast Maine is a -very- strange place, and the natives are indeed quite odd. Though my entry is presented in a somewhat humorous light, it's as accurate as you might expect. And the followup letter about accents is an absolute truth as well. I've lived here most of my life, and *I* sound silly trying to speak with the downeast accent.

Sorry it's taken so long for someone to come and comment on your entry. I really like it!

If you added some sentences on things like:

what places are good to eat at, stay at, etc.
are there are any cheesy little tourist attractions?

I'd seriously consider recommending this one.

I like it. But a large %age of the entry is not about Maine. It's about the characteristics of drivers from out of state.

Is it "you" or your nieghbour, New Hampshire, that doesn't have a seat belt law for drivers over 21?

I got into trouble when I drove over the border from N.B. The customs officer was in his building. I stoppped, waited, and drove through (thought it was like between, say Belgium and Holland). All kinds of sirens went off and I got quite a telling off.

hello Datsun, and congratulations on your first Edited Entry! but what does that mean, exactly? basically, there will be created a *new* entry, with your name on it, but that you won't be able to change(you will be able to change the original still), and that will show up on your 'edited entries' list. this new entry will be much the same, probably, but will have some things changed as a result of having been edited. when it's finished being Edited, you'll get an email telling you, but please bear in mind that this can take awhile.
