Flying jelly babies?! The most exciting thing we ever did in science was bicarb soda and vinegar...a whole lot of fizzle and not much else

What can I say? I must have just had some really good teachers up to A-level. I suppose alot of experiments are only as interesting as you make them. You get quite a few lovely colours; potassium permanganate is a great deep purple in water, with the added advantage that it is really reactive. Not reactive, though. The closest I got to that was my teacher telling us how napalm works.

interesting!!
Right, I think it's time I set up this hammock. I need two fairly decent trees about 2 metres apart...seen any likely ones?

That one and that one look like the best candidates to me. Of course, hammocks never work as well in fact as they do in theory. Try snagging the rope round above that branch: it MAY stop the hammock slipping down.

no, my hammocks never slip, but this one doesn't have the wood at the ends, so it's awful to try and get into

Good luck with your hammock! I dived into mine one lovely day this summer and discovered that the weeks of leaving it out in the rain had taken their toll...and of course I had an audience as I descended (gracefullly of course) into the climbing honeysuckle

It must have been a comfy hammock. You've been sleeping for over three months!

*RTR* You really need to have someone in to examine that water!

maybe I need to do something about this hammock - it'll get mighty silly if I just sleep for months!

Put a stick in the ground so that it pokes into the hammock. That way you won't be able to sleep properly. A Baldrick solution if ever there was one!
