Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~

I agree with Santra on both frames and lenses - but Eurythmics never made it for me (though I agree they are/were very skilled and talented)

Baron Grim

I loved the Eurythmics' soundtrack for 1984.

I rate it "Plus good, double plus good."

I'm going to guess that Santra's Eurythmics favourite is 'Sweet Dreams'. I know *I crank up the volume every time I hear it.

Picked up my new glasses today - it's the first time I've felt *shorter with new glasses. Every time before, I've felt taller, because everything looked a little bit smaller.

These are the frames I got - click on the picture to see them from the side:

Titania (gone for lunch)

I just watched a Eurythmics video I haven't seen before (Beethoven) and found it creepy in a kind of 'Stepford wives' way. Dr Demento also comes to mind.

Sweat Dreams is good. And deserves to be cranked up, sure. But no.

Eurythmics is the band (excluding local artists) I've seen live most times - three, all in Copenhagen. Which beats Pink Floyd, Springsteen and Diana Krall by one.

And while the two lasts gigs sure were fab, the lineup in the first one - also in the video above - was ultimately good. Joniece Jameson, a sould and gospel singer in her own right, added very high class backing vocals. And Jimmy Z Zavala on harp and sax.... Mmmmmmmm!

An anecdote from the last show, the Peace tour: We were there with a very good friend who sings a lot of choir music and knows a lot about singing, also technically. Halfway through the concert she was just amazed over Annie Lennox' singing. "But - there's absolutely nothing she can't do with her voice!" smiley - smiley

And another thing in their skill-set that has pleased me - I've heard them do "Who's That Girl" in the original, electronic, style; as acoustic guitar and vocal only (and, excuse me once more, that voice...) and as a blaring three-guitar rock version. And the song carries all of it well. That, in my mind, is song-writing and musical skill on a rare level.
