Titania (gone for lunch) Started conversation Sep 29, 2012
A few years ago, I was cruising a supermarket when I suddenly spotted an odd looking man.
Now, it's unusual for me to spot anyone at all while searching for the food stuff I want to buy (least of all my friends) but he really looked out of place.
Suit, shirt, tie.
Broad shoulders.
Hands together in front of his crotch.
Standing rather more broad legged than usual.
Intently looking around with a grim expression.
A white spiral cord dangling from one ear.
Ah well, I kept on walking but then stopped, because I spotted another man, identical with the first one.
I looked around some more and spotted a third man.
And a fourth.
And it wasn't until then that I spotted, in their midth, a man pushing his half filled trolley, like everybody else - except it was the PM of Sweden; Fredrik Reinfeldt.
I would never have noticed him if it hadn't been for the security men.
And I had to use the CIA World Factbook to get his name right (I've got it bookmarked):

Ehhh... copy&paste?

I was seriously worried (for you) by the time I read up to "A white spiral cord dangling from one ear." then I *really* freaked out I read it as "spinal cord" and I thought you'd blundered into some sort of massacre!
If you want the link to work, you have to remove the "s" from https (it's the same with Picasa, I forget every time!)

And I'm not sure why their main method of communication is so obviously visable?

Aha, no matter which way you approach that link, it *will turn into a https no matter what.
Ah well, just search for Sweden then

The original link (with the s) should work in Pliny. The edited one (without the s) would normally work on any other website but CIA.gov as they've apparently encrypted almost their entire website to protect the anonymity of their visitors.

You'd think that people that need an entourage to go anywhere would just make a list and send an assistant out to do their shopping.

Exactly my thought, Witty! I was quite surprised to see him doing his own shopping!

It's a PR stunt, he's a "man of the people, doing his own shopping".
Did anyone get a look in his trolley?
