I studied law, and I have been a criminal (drug) defendant more than once as a young man (I am now 51). The 6th Amendment worked for me in those situations (I was never convicted).
But, the two most ignored Amendments, virtually erased, are the 9th and 10th. These, among other things, limit the scope of the federal government. Here they are:
Article IX.
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
Article X.
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
When was the last time you heard even a rumor about power not enumerated (not given to the federal government) or Rights reserved for the people? I never have!
