A Conversation for Sergei Prokofiev

Walter of Colne Posted Oct 30, 2000
Good morning everyone,
Hobart, as ever, 31 October 07.15. A ripsnorter of a day, still and sunny, heading for a top in the low twenties.
And Sergei is NOT in the most neglected list this morning. Too early for analysis or interpretation, I will just leave you with that bald statement of fact.

Hello Walter
Good old Sergei. Long may he remain off the list.
What a coincidence - the weather is also beautiful in my part of the world.

Good morning everyone,
Hobart 1 November 07.25. What a bobby dazzler of a morning; I hope all of you get to have a bonza day like this in the near future. We had two parrots eating grass seeds in our lawn this morning.
Don't get over-excited comrades, but Sergei is NOT on the most neglected page, again. I only get to see the site in the Southern Hemisphere daytime, so if any of you Northerners have spotted Sergei in your daytime, could you please let us know?

*dreams of sunshine*
Ummm...we have severe flood warnings...oooh and we had snow yesterday that was pretty but now we have rain again, the gails have gone though
*whispers*
He's still not on the list...I think we might have done it

Dublin, Ireland, 0900 hours. Would you welcome please to the Most Neglected list... Mr Sergei Prokofiev!!
Perhaps there's an Antikofiev faction somewhere...

its always the same set of entries which are on the list. Zaverntern, Belgium always comes up with Prokofiev. There's something wrong with the procedure I'm sure.

Good morning everyone,
Hobart 2 November 08.20. I spoke too soon, it is raining - but it is warm. And our caution was not misplaced; Sergei is at number five. Those who the gods wish to destroy they first send mad.

Hi Walter,
I can endorse that comment, but then insanity is just a state of mind

Hello again everyone,
Just for something completely different, I checked the 'most neglected' list at 14.45 Hobart time. Sergei has vanished. Seven hours ago he was on, now he is off. Does anyone have the faintest idea of what is going on?
Walter.

I think it switches to a different five every 12 hours and then back again after another 12
Still I've beocme quiet accustomed to having him there

Good morning everyone,
Hobart 6 November 07.30. Lovely day, fine and sunny, and tomorrow the world-famous Melbourne Cup will be run. We had a wood duck in the garden this morning, with six teensy ducklings swimming around in a small puddle on the path, except they were so small the puddle looked kind of large, if you know what I mean.
Sergei is NOT on the list yet, but I think there is a lot in the theory that the most neglected list changes every twelve hours, and that the next cycle will see him make an appearance.

*looks suspicious*
That's strange...he's been on my "top five neglected" list since I logged on and he's still there now...
*looks deep in thought*
Hmmmm...
*grins*
Btw we had ducks swimming down the road yesterday

Hello again,
Yes, you are quite right Tinkerbell, Sergei is now ON the list, so he must have appeared in the last fifteen minutes.
What sort of ducks, how many, and where, please? Are you in Europe suffering from those floods we have been reading about? (Can't get enough chat about birds and their goings on).

*thinks*
Was it about 6pm that he appeared?
Yes I'm in England, right on the band where all the rain is and has been for the past week but I think the winds are worse here as I live next to some woods and loads of trees have been blown over...1 of which is blocking the lane which is not fun as if I want to walk anywhere I have to climb over the tree being careful not to fall in the muddy puddles underneath
Hmmm, the ducks were just mallards and plain white ones (technical term there) sadly so not too interesting for you
