Lost in Scotland

Seems to me as if I'll be the first one to welcome you here.
So, Welcome, and I hope you'll enjoy it.
I must point out that I'm not an official greeter, or anything, I just didn't have very much to do at the moment.
The greeting is sincere nevertheless, though.

Dear Lost,

thanks for the note, this is an official 'thank you', well is its about as official as I get on a Friday. This might sound like a daft question, but where abouts are you lost in Scotland?

I mean, I know that if you knew where you were, you wouldn't be lost, and that Scotland is sufficiently big to get lost in very easily, so I supose I'm asking where were you last before you got lost?......or is that just your nickname?
[I really should drink less cough medicine in the mornings.]

Ta Ra for now

That is in deed a good question, and also a good point you are making that if I know where I am I wouldn't be lost.
There are, however, several states of lostness (I have no idea if that really is a word, but I don't really care) and I do not seem to be suffering from Geographical lostness at the moment, which means that I know where I am, which is in Greenock, just west of Glasgow.

Dear Lost,

you are not wrong, there are indeed a lot of states of lostness, depending on drinking, falling asleep, general not knowing where you are goingness, that kind of thing. And I have been in all of those states from time to time.

Thanks for the detail, but I have been to Galsgow a number of times, staggering along Sauchiehall Street or Argyle back to the Marriot or some other hotel. I've ended up in the lap dancing place opposite the 'horseshoe bar' on a number of occasions, and started many an afternoon in 'All Bar One' on West Nile Street, or the 'Drum & Monkey' round the corner.

I even made it to Hampden for the Scotland vs France game, and joined in with the 'Stand up if you hate English', because you see I am Scouse and the English don't like us much either, and I did fancy getting out with as many limbs as I went in with. Was treated to a 'Pie Supper' and a few pints of 80/, what a wonderful city.

Bee Lucky, Hooch.
PS. If you know where you are, does that mean you are now 'Used to be lost in Scotland, but I know where I am now'? Big Nickname!!

Dear Hooch.

As I said, I am not geographically lost, however, that doesn't mean I'm not lost in other ways.
It's al very complicated, and in the state of lostness I'm in now, I can't really explain it. Those that have been there, knows what it it. Otherwise it's damned hard to know what it is.

Yo Lost,

ho ya doin'? I know th eweather isn't up to much, but it is officially summertime, to maybe you should consider heading south-ish, its easy to do,when you wake up in the morning stand so the sun is on your left hand side, you will then be facing south, if you keep going in tht direction you will end up further south. And then, Hay Presto!!! you can be lost somewhere else for your summer holidays.

What do you think?

Hooch. PS Saw Gladiator the other night A1-Fab film.

Hey, Hooch.

Not doing too bad. In the process of moving elsewhere. Well, moving pretty much westerly. I grew tired of my current roommate so I decided that I should move closer to town.
The going south thing seems to be a really good thing. I think I'll have to try that. Very best thing I could think of right about now, is if I would have the money and the reason to go to Frankfurt around the 25th of this month.
Unfortunately, I have a phone bill to pay which my roommate refuses to pay, even though it's him who have called about 95% of the calls, and he will not pay that until he gets his next pay, which is around the 24th of this month. Bad thing is that the bill is in my name, so I'm the one in trouble if it doesn't get paid. Therefor, I'm up Shit Creek with no money.
The southerly vacation will have to wait.
Other than that, everything's just fine and dandy.

Lost.

Ps. Damn you for going to see Gladiator and telling me it's good. I haven't seen it yet. And it looks as if I won't have money to go see it either. ONce again, I say: Damn you. smiley - smiley

Yo, Lost,

Well you got me, I know the quarter finals of Euro 2000 are on the 25th of this month, but they're not in Frankfurt. What is going on there??

'Dudes who screw up the digs and you have to bail them out'. I'm pretty sure you could open a whole new H2G2 page on that. Yes, been there, done that.

Sorry you wont get to see Gladiator.

Keep Smiling

See Ya

Howdy.

Frankfurt, 25th. Championship game in the NFL Europe League, American Football. Scottish Claymores vs Rhein Fire.
Can't go there, though. Flights there cost a fortune and since we have some messed up rules about 2 people from our desk at work not being allowed to take a day off at the same day, my colleague can't join, and that would spoil half the fun of the game.
So I won't be going. *sigh* Oh well, I'll go next year instead, if the Claymores go through to the finals then.smiley - smiley

"People that make calls worth a fortune and then goes on a holiday instead of paying the phone bill, getting the phone company todisconnect the phone, and later cannot understand why the phone company disconnected the phone." Long header for an article.

I'll get to see Gladiator some day. Maybe not while it's at the big screen, but definitely when it gets realeased on video.smiley - smiley

Yo Lost,

Long time no speak! I've been away in the States so I've been out of touch, in more ways than one, for a while. Last time I looked at the weather in Scotland it said it was under about four feet of water.

How's tricks?

Hey, Hooch.

Things aren't too bad. Those four feet of rain has to be somewhere else.. It hasn't rained here for ages, if you don't count sunday where we had a slight downpour for a while. But since I was inside during that rainfall, I didn't see it and therefor it doesn't count, right?smiley - smiley

How was the States? Did you do anything fun? I have to admit that at the moment, I'd really like to go back there.. If only for a vacation of a few weeks or so...
BUt I guess I'll have to put that off a bit til at least next year or so.

Well, that's about it, I guess..
Ciao for now.

Hey, Hooch.

Good to hear that you had a good time in the US. UNfortunately, I don't have very much to offer in the way of recommending places to eat or go out. When I was there, I was kind of busy trying to find a replacement passport, so that they'd let me out of the country. So I didn't get to see very much of the city itself. I did go to the UN building, and to the World trade center, but that was pretty much it.
And since NY was the last stop of my vacaation to the US, my budget was a bit strained when I got there, so I couldn't really go anywhere fancy to eat.

So unfortunately, I can't offer much help on that question.

Have a great time when you go there, though.
