Greetings Cidhis, just wanted to say hello, having found out you are from Gigha.
I was brought up on Islay and have been to Gigha a few times.
not recently, though, as I moved to Edinburgh about 13 years ago.
Suggestion for a guide entry:Gaelic. Was thinking about one myself, but I haven't spoken it since I was at school, so i don't remember much.
Anyway stop by my page sometime and say hello.

Hello there Babel-17 (CSC: The Aroma Cafe),
what a long name!
I'm not sure I'd be the best authority on Gaelic myself - I have actually got a bit mixed up as I spent some time in Ireland while I was at school and so had to learn Irish and they are just close enough to really mess a person up. Could do an article on comparing the Celtic languages or on the origin of them I guess.... spent some time in Wales too...(my father's jobs meant we were rather mobile)
Nice to meet you, I hope my assumption that I get to you by clicking your name is right...
Suas leis a' GhĂ idhlig!

How about an article on Gigha, then Cidhis?
I was thinking of doing one on Islay.
Whatever.
As for the length of name, you should see some of the names here. A lot of researchers use the bit in brackets to convey messages to other people. When you change your username, it automatically updates every post you have ever done!
Add the 'Who's online' javascript to your homepage, so that you too can see who is online. Follow this link:http://www.h2g2.com/dontpanic.cgi?name=dontpanic#12.4

Any problems, drop me a line at my homepage, or via here.

Cidhis, any chance you can get up to Edinburgh for Sat. 5th Aug? Reason being a few of us are getting together for a Scottish Researchers Meet-up. Don't know if you are still around, understand you are busy, but have a look here http://www.h2g2.com/A380440 if you get a chance and leave a message either here, there http://www.h2g2.com/F47037?thread=61631 or at my place :-) Cheers B-17.

Unfortunately not, it is the only weekend I have off before going on an international camp and I will be spending most of it getting ready.
