it's my very favourite thing in the world. Fnar fnar
And for anyone who *isn't* 2Legs
... when I'm just about to wash my hands anyway. ACtually, that would have worked too. I *do* tend to wash my hands after I've touched a germy soap pump.
I'm not going to be able to watch that advert without now.

Oh dear, is another manufacturer of cleaning products scaremongering? Nothing new there, then.

Here's one of the ads, although it was a different one I saw today. When I saw this first one I did notice the flaw, if I am about to wash my hands with your 'kill all germs' handwash does it matter if the soap is germy!?!?!?!

What a load of foetid dingo's kidneys
Later this afternoon I have to retake my food handlers certificate which has just expired, and touching soap pumps is perfectly okay because, as you so rightly point out, you wash your hands *after* you touch the pump. The contamination problem is touching a germy tap handle *after* you've washed your hands to turn the water off

What a stupid commercial!
Besides, most of the public toilets here in Sweden have this kind of tap (sorry, wasn't able to link to just the photo) which you can turn off with your elbow or other limbs if you don't want to use your hands:

So really they should be inventing a tap that you don't have to touch! Or with your elbow. Oh. They already exist, they had to improvise!

Oh bah, I assume it was the link I posted. I wanted to use a photo to illustrate the kind of tap where you only have one lever, which you can push down with your elbow to turn it off after washing your hands. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find the URL for just the photo, so posted a link to the site itself - which happened to be a Swedish magazine.
Anyway, stupid commercial indeed.
