1.66 meters is pretty damn impressive. We got only 44 inches at our house during Harvey, IIRC. Our house only got a few inches inside. We were moderately lucky.

To be fair, I think that figure is for the whole monsoon, which has been going since September.

Yeah, that was part of my point, that it took weeks to accumulate around 69 inches of rain in Bangalore, while Houston got up to 52 inches in just a day or two. By comparison, when Hurricane Mitch brought 48 inches to Central America, huge areas were simply washed away. That's a huge amount of water however you slice it.
But I don't mean to dismiss Bangalore's problems.

No, and it's a third world country. It must be difficult to invest in the civil infrastructure to cope with record rainfall.
It can't help that it's a new metropolis of cheap technology skills (I read that 750,000 there work in IT alone). All that concrete can't help the drainage.

After yesterdays strange weather phenomenon of strange coloured skies and orange looking sun, today is a much different day with the occasional sunshine and variable cloud cover.
I do not know whether it is the change in the weather but I have severe stabbing pains in my shoulders, arms, legs and feet which is worse on my left side. I am already on pain medication which means that I am unable to drink real ale which is my favourite tipple.

Ironically, the alcohol in might thin the blood enough to improve circulation enough to help with any heart problems.

Thanks all for your kind advice, but it is probably because of my Fibromyalgia pains that are always worse on my left side.

If there are two possible explanations, the simpler one is usually better

Fibromyalgia would have explained the pain fine.

Occam's razor, avoinding unnecessary unnecessary complication, is a sound one if the statement is rigorous and complete enough.
I had a TIA (small stroke) back in 1979, which initially left me paralyzed on the left side my body, though only for a few hours.
Next I had and incident with angina pains in the vicinity of the pulmonary artery, in which I fell down on the sidewalk and couldn't get up.
Afterward a crease set in on the left side of my face running from the cheek bone almost to the jaw line that didn't go away till 2016.
Though I saw the doctor promptly there didn't seem to be anything wrong by the time of the appointment.
Even cardiac specialist MDs have confessed to mistakenly disregarding pains in the left arm and shoulder they were having themselves.
Unusual weather certainly can aggravate conditions like fibromyalgia.
Whatever else, Kat, I wish you the best.
